Instead of spending another day immersed in Middle Eastern names, culture, religion, death and destruction, the world was treated to western culture, etiquette and a Christian gathering in the House of the Lord, to celebrate the marriage of a man and a woman who love one another.
It was a beautiful ceremony, in a beautiful setting.
It was uplifting. It was a happy, joyous day.
I wish the newlyweds a loving and productive life.
Queen Elizabeth can take a bow now that the British royal family will be in good hands after she's gone.
well said.
Seeing a western country celebrate their traditions etc was great. It brings pride back into any country when this is done and obviously the lefty loons will not like that.
So what did you expect them to do after eight years of living together? Break up? Sneak off and have a wedding ceremony performed in a civil records office? Become a nun and a priest? Commit suicide? No, they made it right as soon as she could talk him into it; they did their duty in providing the British people with a spectacular event that has revived Britain’s flagging national spirit and sense of identity.
I’m sure you went to your marriage bed a virgin, which is commendable. But Christ forgave the adulteress, who had done something far worse than having sex before marriage, and He said, “Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.” How about a little more forgiveness and a little less Pharisaical condemnation, unless you really are, like Him, entirely without sin? God don’t like ugly, and your spitefulness is ugly indeed.
really.
I’d prefer my kids to live with their spouse before they’re married.
I’d hate to see my daughter marry and then find out her husband is a wife beater or has a bad temper, lay about, useless etc.
Same for my boys, I;’d hate to them to find out who they’re married to after they’re married
they’re idiots like their mother
Correct, they only righteous recourse is to marry, we do not know what is in the heart. By proclaiming their vows in public covers their past...
Its not about whether God is forgiving, of course God is forgiving. And I wish the couple well and hope their marriage includes God. The shacking up sure did not include God.
Both the diana craziness and THIS craziness is nothing more than a multi media spectacle. Well, now, young women and men once again have been acknowledged that what you do before marraige, has NOTHING to do with marriage. Great message that has been blasted all day...”Oh, every girl’s dream! Oh every girl wants a fairy tale!”
Yup, we got a multi media fairy tale.
Didn't St. John die on a Penal Colony on Patmos though?
You are correct, we get our philosophy from Greece, our System of government from Rome, our Morality from Christianity, and our Law from the Torah ( Parts of the Constitution are plucked right out of Deuteronomy)
I have always said that the one thing America has truly lost is an overriding culture, the Fourth of July, Memorial Day, and Veterans Day still come Oh so close, but we have lost it, that is the Role the Monarchy plays in the UK, the present the people with a place to unite in their "Britishness"
How kind of you....why not just visciously attack the messenger.
I have never attacked the couple... I wish them well, yes, no one is “perfect” AND yes, its good they got married.
I am attacking the message that this over the top multi media fantasy spectacle that the British monarchy did for its hypocrisy .
I understand that in the past few weeks they had to receive instruction in faith from the Archbishop and Catherine went through a confirmation ceremony several days ago. Quite apart from that, William is going to be a head of state, so he owes it to his people and history to have a wedding ceremony according to prescribed forms.
I’m not claiming that they repented of any sins they’ve committed; I don’t know them and don’t know what’s in their hearts. But I can’t find anyplace in the Bible that says that only virgins can get married. And I know, too, that sexual sin is not the worst sin; the worst sin is the sin of Satan: pride.
Interesting - I just read that only the conservative PMs (Thatcher, Major, and Cameron) were invited - the Labour PMs (Blair, Brown) did not receive invitations.
I appreciate your comments! Thanks! I’d rather hear it from an Englishman about his country than an American. I didn’t pay any mind to Shep Smith, just enjoyed our cousins across the pond! (Part English myself wayyyyy back down the line! LOL)
A bunch of inbred German welfare cases who live in the nicest public housing, courtesy of the British taxpayer.
You don’t have to live together to know your spouse before you marry them. That’s ridiculous.
Ours could only watch online...
my view you do but obviously you don’t and that’s fine.
I would rather see my kids live with their future spouse and know how they will live with , how they live, are they lazy, scruffy etc but each to their own
All I've heard is snide comments from the media about the "spectacle"...the Leftist msm does not like this story and it is they who "hyped" it and then it was they who asked, "are you sick of the hype and spectacle yet?"
I watched it this morning and realized that we never see this any more, the ceremony and our wonderful western culture being aired for millions to see. I felt a wonderful wave come over me of something familiar, a part of my heritage that has been systematically taken from me.
All our institutions are under attack by the Left. The more they're pealed away the more base our culture has become.
We need to see more western culture on display, warts and all, because it's a darn sight better than the 24/7 rot that fills 200-300 channels. And it's a step back in the right direction.
well I’m glad I never sent you to sleep EEK.
from there and here.
You got the best two in the world then but it is a shame this clown in power is not helping with relations, thankfully the majority on both sides have more brains than the muppet in the white house and we still have special connections, history etc
I have no sexual obsession about Kate Middleton.
I do think it is very hypocritical for someone who is unrepentant about shacking up for 8 years to want.have a church wedding.
” 9I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people 10 not at all meaning the sexually immoral of this world, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. 11But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindlernot even to eat with such a one. 12For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? 13God judges those outside. “Purge the evil person from among you.” - 1 Cor 5
When someone wants to enter what is supposedly a Christian church and receive the church’s approval for their wedding, then it is appropriate to tell them that shacking up - fornication - is wrong, and that they need to repent.
14 Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, 15and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” - Mark 1
Repent. A good word, necessary to Christianity.
“Id prefer my kids to live with their spouse before theyre married.”
You are welcome to want that, but it isn’t in line with Christianity. Jesus didn’t say, “Go, and sin at will...”
Blair and Brown are known to be “Republicans”.
