I have no sexual obsession about Kate Middleton.
I do think it is very hypocritical for someone who is unrepentant about shacking up for 8 years to want.have a church wedding.

When someone wants to enter what is supposedly a Christian church and receive the church’s approval for their wedding, then it is appropriate to tell them that shacking up - fornication - is wrong, and that they need to repent.
14 Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, 15and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” - Mark 1
Repent. A good word, necessary to Christianity.

You presented the concerns I also had in a much more calm and patient manner than I have done. I guess I get upset , not because people are imperfect ( whoa...me included,ha.), but because we give out a message that seems contradictory to what we talk about committment.

While I'm not here to defend the Episcopal Church I assume you are unfamiliar with Rite 1 used during the period of Lent:
Almighty God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

which we from time to time most grievously have committed, by thought, word, and deed, against thy divine Majesty, provoking most justly thy wrath and indignation against us.

the remembrance of them is grievous unto us, the burden of them is intolerable.
Have mercy upon us, have mercy upon us, most merciful Father;
for thy Son our Lord Jesus Christ's sake, forgive us all that is past;

Assuming they went to church during Lent which I believe they did I think there may have been some repenting going on.

I doubt if it was an issue — what Kate may, or may not have, “wanted”. This was the Queen’s show in the end, as are all these types of events.
