The First Zombie-Proof House
All That Is Interesting ^

Somehow, ritual drunk-conversation concerning team captains for the apocalypse has become a major part of the lives of 20-somethings. Having been matured in the Grandaddy-crowned masterpiece film (put A.M. 180 on and forget that you have a job), 28 Days Later, were all a little too ready to deal with the 2012 of our dreams.

I wonder what it would cost me 1/2 that size with a few accoutrements?
A few gun ports...underground water storage, underground 5,000gal propane tank, septic out 300 yards, as much solar as it can handle with propane generator backup, remote sensors and cameras out at 400 and 1,000 yards...and clear field of view for the same distance, well directly beneath the structure with the pump running slowly to keep the aforementioned tank full.
25 cases of whiskey and 6-8 women "of child bearing age" and a man would be SET!

Gunports is all it’s lacking. And maybe a few remote controlled flamethrower nozzles along the roof line.

Neat house thanks for sharing!
The only improvements I can think of would be long tunnels leading to the entrances with gun ports above the doors, an underground escape tunnel or two, and a larger space enclosed by higher walls to protect food crops and livestock.

It needs battlements around the edge of the roof so you can shoot safely while tending the subsistence garden that needs to be up there.

Since the 2nd floor opens up, why would you need gun ports? Well, I suppose you would if someone were shooting back at you. I also don’t know if I’d trust the sliding steel door; put 100 peope/zombies pushing up against it and I wonder how long it’d hold out.

If you have 100 zombies trying to push it down, you pour "boiling oil" on them:)
