I think the cancer starts with teachers and media who feed liberal rubbish to people around the clock and those people are usually not inclined to dig a little deeper to educate themselves.
Thus, they accept what they are fed from what they consider to be a reliable source. The challenge for conservatives is how to break the cycle.
long time ago I read a quote by an Israeli counter-terrorism expert to the effect that, whereas they used to work very hard at studying and understanding the minds of terrorists, they concluded it isn't worth the effort to attempt any approach that depends upon their sanity for its success; that the motives of terrorists have no foundation in reason.
I agree with your analysis and would add that many liberals have liberal parents and are unwilling to debate issues based on facts and reasoning.
They operate from an emotional level and that is good enough for them. So you really cannot debate with them on any issue. Bush was bad. So Republicans are bad. And Obama must be good because he’s not an evil Republican. That’s all they need to know and it is not worth their time digging any deeper into the subject.
Go over to DU and have a look. Mostly you will find foul language and name-calling. That’s what passes for analysis. Pretty much code-word based: bad words are Palin, Bush, Cheney, Corporations, War on Terror, Wall Street, Tea Party, Birther, Racist ... you get the idea.

What I don’t understand is Big Government Liberals who think they are Anarchist because they are against Big Corporations.

No, it is the fault of generations of parents and pastors who have given their generation’s children to government schools to be indoctrinated and who also allowed those children to be marinated in the worldview of the MSM.
We don’t like the degenerate culture in which we live? Well, we have done this to ourselves, and we continue to do it. Do people really want to cripple the left? Get your children out of the government schools today and cancel your cable subscription.
We won’t do these simple things, though. We are addicted to educational welfare and want to be entertained. Complaining is fine, but doing what is necessary is just too inconvenient.
Very perceptive. They just want to be comfortable in their sin. This is why they hate people who point it out or who fail to “celebrate” it.

If the government is responsible for taking care of everybody, then WE cannot fall short in any obligation to help others.
The resulting culture has no reason for self control or personnel responsibility.
I’ve decided it’s a tribal thing. Take my family for instance. They root for the Red Sox and the vote RAT. Neither tendency is based on logic. You root for the Sox cause you live in Boston, and you’ve always rooted for the Sox and you hate the Yankees. You no more would pull the lever for a Republican than you would go out wearing a Yankees cap. This is the best I’ve been able to do. Other than this there is really no explaining it.
liberal is an anti-human ideology. If you ask them to grade humans, they will give it an F. They’re constantly fighting against human nature, instead of working with it. They rather a civilization equivalent of ants or bees, where theres no individuality, everyone work for the collective

If teachers and the media have that much influence on kids, it doesn't say much for the influence of parents.

Trying to speak logic to a liberal is like trying to teach a pig to fly. A waste of time for all involved and very annoying to the pig.
It’s even simpler than that. Leftists (they are not liberals) just want to feel good. They want to feel good physically. Even their mental feelings extend from their physical feelings. They may be capable of mimicking human behavior but their inner life is no deeper than that of unicellular protists.
It would be a total waste of time to treat these THINGS like people. They are too numerous to annihilate so the only thing we can do is prevent them from destroying the humanity of the young. This is not possible most of the time.
