I see the two crimes as completely different. An adult man who seduces a female student (or a male student) is far more likely to be successful only because of the difference in power. An adult woman who seduces a student is far more likely to succeed because it's what the student would want regardless of whether it's his teacher or a total stranger. Both should lose their jobs and go to jail, but the man's crime is usually worse in fact, and he should go to jail for far longer.
