I strongly support nuclear power. The only good thing I ever saw in the global warming hysteria was the possibility (though faint) that people might decide nuclear power made sense.

Now, in the wake of Japan, I see little possibility that the US will build a couple dozen nuclear power plants in the near future.

So, the choices are very stark:
1) Live in caves
2) Burn a whole lot of coal and other fossil fuels

I know which way the Left wants us to go, but I don't see it happening. No one is buying the crap they want to sell.

Not too smart to build GE reactors on an Eathquake fault with no good safety system.

“Global Wraming” was simply the means by which socialists attempted to push their ideology on the world.

If we simply let it pass, they will find another method.

They must all be prosecuted to the full extent. A bloody nose is the only thing that will stop the fearmongering.

When was the last time you heard of the Ozone Hole?

And how many regulations affecting everything from Halon production (the most effective fire suppressor) to CFCs and air conditioner chemicals are still on the books and in our lives raising the costs of living for us all?

We can’t let the lib extreme enviornuts get away with this increased cost of libbing again.

Last week our Receptionist sent an e-mail to everyone that the Kona Blend Coffee was being discontinued due to Climate Change. Knowing that coffee is not indigenous to Hawaii I immediately called BS. As it turns out, a beetle, that is also not indigenous to Hawaii found its way to the Kona region and destroyed the berries. The Hawaiian Department of Agriculture is not calling it industrial sabotage yet. But the Climate Change charge was based on Hawaii not getting enough “SNOW”!

Then, too, like oxygen, all life on Planet Earth is dependent on CO2, a gas that the Environmental Protection Agency is actually calling a “pollutant.”
I'd like to see a Global Ad Campaign with the theme:

Check Yourself; You Are Carbon

Check The Trees; They Are Carbon

We were lied to for years by the warming fraudsters and their left-wing government allies. It cost us trillions while they dithered....it will take time to grow strong again and we need to never allow them to take control of the energy platform. Call them what they are LIARS, CHEATS and FRAUDS.

Those reactors are holding up rather well. After all, they survived an earthquake *seven times* more powerful than their design spec.

This dovetails with Social Security and other government programs. The government should not be in the business of giving anyone anything. Widows and Orphans? Sure, they need help -- but don't let the government be the helper: it won't turn out well for either the taxpayers or the widows and orphans.

Just so, if the government wants to protect us from CO2, the sun, or from warm summers, we just have to say "No thanks". It's not government's job.

When government does more, it just increases the problems. It never helps.

with no good safety system.

Can you back up that absurd assertion? This seems to indicate there are several very well designed safety systems. fukushima-simple-explanation

Not too smart to build GE reactors on an Eathquake fault with no good safety system.

Wonderful logic. Here is more of this logic:

Not too smart to build bullet trains on an Eathquake fault with no good safety system

Not too smart to build bridges on an Eathquake fault with no good safety system

Not too smart to build convenience stores with tall shelves on an Eathquake fault with no good safety system

Not too smart to build overhead electric transmission lines on an Eathquake fault with no good safety system

Stop the fearmongering. It plays right into the hands of opportunistic leftists. The plants have, and will, contain the nuclear fuel after an 8.9 earthquake, AS THEY WERE DESIGNED TO DO.

What are you talking about. It is not smart to build nuke plants on quake faults. Never was never will be. Build them in safer places. Duhh!

Of course earthquakes are caused by Global Warming! Japan never had earthquakes before 1880, when evil capitalists started warming the earth with carbon dioxide emissions from their factories.

If you don't believe me, do you remember any pre-1880's TV reports before of earthquakes anywhere in the world?

Considering the BIG picture.....the reactors have held up rather well.

What can you tell me about their "no good safety system"?
