Taiwan: Two Suns in the Sky (bad omen?)
JoongAng Daily ^ | 03/05/11

Posted on 03/05/2011 3:37:05 PM PST by TigerLikesRooster

Footage from Taiwan's CTV.

Reportedly seen from Peng-hu Islands.

Explained as an instance of sundog.

Some fear that this is a bad omen heralding "the end of the world."

“Some fear that this is a bad omen heralding “the end of the world.””

Look on the bright side, at least that would end liberalism.

Interesting . . . moderately interesting.

Don’t know that it’s anything special.

Don’t know that it’s not.

I’m agnostic about it.

LOL.

Thx.

Much better. Gorgeous feathering and a flawless set of bezier curves. Even the reflection is right. The only nits anyone could possibly pick are minor ones. The shadowed trees in the foreground of the gigantic “moon” are too harsh. Maybe a .5 pixel feather there would solve the problem. Then, the shadowed area of the moon would not share the exact coloration of the rest of the sky. It would be detectably lighter, but not by much.

All said, applause is in order. Is this the lake behind your house, lol?

Hmmm? I thought you were the believer, and I the agnostic?

I think I went with too much atmosphere on the big moon. Just one of my quickie photoshops from a while back. I did get this photo of a red rainbow a few years back without photoshop.

Just about these double sun images!

How’s the family.

You all stocked up and ready for growing traumas?

I remember a red rainbow FR post from a few years back. Were you the OP? I stumbled across a lot of interesting symbolism associated with them in various parts of the world and posted it to the thread.

I wasn’t the OP but I may have posted that photo because it was a few years ago. I took on an early fall morning during a break in the rain.

Have you seen the sundogs on both sides of the sun? It looks really cool.

Boobs. Thanks a lot. That’s going to live in my head, like “Wildfire”.

When I was a child I read a story on how Indians see a rabbit in the moon, not a man. To this day I see a rabbit. And now you have me stuck with boobs.

Didn’t this happen in the movie “2010: The Year we make contact”?
