It's looking increasingly likely that tea party maven and Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., will dive into the 2012 presidential waters.
Among the evidence is a packed schedule for this weekend, including two suspiciously stump-like stops in Florida on Friday and a Sunday appearance on NBCs Meet the Press, where shell be asked about how the campaign against President Obamas reelection should be framed, according to network previews.
Most notable is Bachmann's involvement in the conservative Club for Growths annual winter meeting on Friday, where her name shared a guest list with those of Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour and former Govs. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota and Mitt Romney of Massachusettsall rumored White House contenders.

Palin draws all of the fire, Bachmann slips in unnoticed...perfect. Any true conservative would make a great President.
Bachman a "rock star" on the same level as Palin?
Who writes this crap?
If Palin runs, Bachmann does not.
Indeed we do.
Sarah Palin is the real thing. She is the only one who has executive experience that has taken on the establishment.
I would support Bachmann more than would Palin. Bachmann would certainly stand a better chance as the nominee than Palin.

I like Bachman, but the only chance she has is if Sarah doesn’t run and I would pick Palin over Bachman.
Same old, same old—from the usual leftist sources.
Bachman is terrific. But we need her where she is. And she has absolutely no record of leading or running anything. Palin has been leading and running things ever since she was captain of her bb team. Quite a few years of executive experience, and an excellent record at getting things done.
Hey Pissant...
Do you have ANY idea, when Sarah Palin doesn’t win the nomination, how many FReepers are going to blame you personally?
Thank God for screen names and the 2nd Amendment.
Oh, I was going to do a few paragraphs, and then I noticed it was some more of pissant’s petty stuff...so let him frolic in his playpen.
There was a short old guy with “coke-bottle” glasses and greasy hair complaining about the price of Depends at CVS.
I figure it might have been you.
“Tea Party 2012: Will Michele Bachmann Steal Sarah Palin’s Thunder?”
There is nothing to steal. Michele is her own person.
I’d be happy to take the credit. Alas, it will all belong to her.
“There was a short old guy with coke-bottle glasses and greasy hair complaining about the price of Depends at CVS.”
LOL! Priceless!
[Tea Party Express Chairwoman Amy] Kremer said that the Tea Party Express wont be endorsing anyone until after Septembers presidential debate, which the group is cosponsoring with CNN. But when it does, Its going to be the person who can get this country back on the right economic footing. There is a ping list for that debate. FReepmail me if you'd like to join.
MSM can easily get the “real conservatives” to battle each other.
I see zero evidence of that. I DO see that many Republicans and conservatives are -- as opposed to Palin herself -- cowed and shivering from the daily thrashing administered to Palin via the MSM and the popular entertainment culture, and it has demoralized them into taking the defensive position with expectations of losing before the battle has even started.
If you think the MSM wouldn't be as determined AND likely MORE provoked for demonizing, ridiculing, and stigmatizing Bachman as brutally as it has Palin, then you have a big nasty surprise coming. Palin has been so ruthlessly vetted over the past two years that we know there can be no skeletons left in her closets. But Bachman?
Careful what you wish for. Palin isn't perfect, but she falls well within the 80 percent standard that Reagan recommended, and unlike Bachman, she has also been tempered by fire a lot more intense than that faced by any other political figure in my memory. Opting for Bachman over Palin now would be like opting for a sapling over an established, well-rooted tree.
