I would support Bachmann more than would Palin. Bachmann would certainly stand a better chance as the nominee than Palin.
I see zero evidence of that. I DO see that many Republicans and conservatives are -- as opposed to Palin herself -- cowed and shivering from the daily thrashing administered to Palin via the MSM and the popular entertainment culture, and it has demoralized them into taking the defensive position with expectations of losing before the battle has even started.
If you think the MSM wouldn't be as determined AND likely MORE provoked for demonizing, ridiculing, and stigmatizing Bachman as brutally as it has Palin, then you have a big nasty surprise coming. Palin has been so ruthlessly vetted over the past two years that we know there can be no skeletons left in her closets. But Bachman?
Careful what you wish for. Palin isn't perfect, but she falls well within the 80 percent standard that Reagan recommended, and unlike Bachman, she has also been tempered by fire a lot more intense than that faced by any other political figure in my memory. Opting for Bachman over Palin now would be like opting for a sapling over an established, well-rooted tree.
In what alternate universe? In the real world, it's exactly the other way around.
