Palin clarifies statement on Supreme Court ruling: ‘I wasn’t calling for any limit..'

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin clarified remarks posted on Twitter this week in response to a Supreme Court ruling in favor of a church that demonstrates at military funerals, saying she was making a point about a double standard on free speech, not that the group shouldn’t have the right to protest.

Her quote was interpreted by many news outlets, including The Daily Caller, to mean that she disagreed with the Supreme Court’s ruling, although in a new statement exclusive to TheDC, Palin said she agreed with the ruling in favor of the church.

“Obviously my comment meant that when we’re told we can’t say ‘God bless you’ in graduation speeches or pray before a local football game but these wackos can invoke God’s name in their hate speech while picketing our military funerals, it shows ridiculous inconsistency,” Palin told TheDC. “I wasn’t calling for any limit on free speech, and it’s a shame some folks tried to twist my comment in that way. I was simply pointing out the irony of an often selective interpretation of free speech rights.”

Palin said it right the first time.

Then her mistake was coming out again to "clearify" what she said the first time. And that's become a pattern with her.

That she ever takes the time to explain what she meant to the dopes who can't understand plain English, is a testament to her unbelievable endurance and patience.

LOL!

It was hilarious to see the confusion amongst the Palintards last night.

You sound just like a liberal, and you have been for well over a year, now. Why are you still here? Anyone?

Bush never responded to the twists and lies. It was a mistake.

That's the Job of Rush Limbaugh and Hannity to explain and expose the media and they do an excellent job.

True, but Sarah is courageous enough to fight her own battles, without relying on sympathetic media figures to stand up for her. If they do so, then fine, but she doesn't wait for anyone - she steps right up and throws her best punch when she's attacked.

Gotta love that. The lady has a box full of brass balls.

I liked what she said! She was absolutely right! Where she went wrong was when the critics come out, she retreats...

she’s clarifying the distortions

That's going to get her in trouble. She does not have to do Rush Limbaugh's job.

The last thing we want to see is SNL's Palin crying "the media attacks me, the media lies , what I really said was..."

Bush never responded to the twists and lies

Ah, yes he did. I've been in the front lines of political forums supporting Bush, explaining to liberals that the "Mission Accomplished" banner was for the mission of those on the ship and not the Iraqi War. I stood behind Bush (we all did) on the WMD and the justification for taking Saddam down. We all did here. And I still stand in support.

What did Bush do?

He went on interviews near the end of his term and said:

I regret the "mission accomplished" banner.

The weapons in mass distruction arguement is something I regret now.

And there were other examples.

No that is where YOU are confused. This is a game of mock confusion. Anyone who was confused is an idiot. I know there are plenty of them. They are useful idiots but purposeful feigning idiots. If I were Palin I wouldn’t entertain them but I don’t think it hurts. Most people aren’t paying attention at this point. These small dust-ups are only magnified by those with agenda’s. Palin at her core is a known quantity to those who like/love/support her and that is to her advantage. I don’t know any other candidate who says a small thing and the whole media follows. Palin has the media trained and she will set the stage when she chooses to. I personally find it refreshing that she speaks her mind and I’ll guarantee you that the everyday American outside liberal bastions is tiring of seeing someone who is merely speaking their mind being jumped on by the dogs.

Those that are hypersensitive conveniently ignore that many of their favored candidates are non-entities when placed alongside Palin which is why they take what are underhanded approaches to deride her. Obama is a non-entity when placed beside Palin. He is quickly becoming the President who wasn’t there. There are others I could support. Christie for one, DeMint, Rand Paul and others would make great Presidents. However I have to yet see anyone fill the power vacuum and I think we would be well served by someone like Palin. She speaks her mind, she is real, she isn’t owned by anyone, she is one of us who stepped up not as a way gain personal power but because she wished to serve. I haven’t forgotten who Palin is. She is not perfect but she is a woman who stood up to power when she could have been just another rising star inside player.

She didn’t and that is why I trust her. I don’t want someone who wants to be a part of Washington like Romney and others I want someone like Palin who wants to take Washington apart.

Neither do I.

I want someone like Palin who wants to take Washington apart.

So do I. And that's why I'm so concerned. Time for Palin and others to articulate themselves in a manner so that there's absolutely NO WAY what they said could be taken any other way or edited by the media to mean something else. That is the talent of articulation and a talent that will be needed to go up against Obama. If the media lies. So be it. They will lose credibility.

It simply an inability to articulate her position I’ve made the point several times much to the chagrin of the Palinistas.

That’s where I disagree. Bush NEVER set the record straight and the other side walked all over him. Palin has a screwdriver-in-the-back way of answering critics that I applaud.

I do believe they should communicate clearly. Don’t get me wrong but these details don’t matter. Sarah or any Republican candidate could be clear as day but they will be attacked both for what they say and what they don’t say and for things that they may have been thinking. I’m so tired of the nitpicking. Palin has given some very inspiring speeches that she actually wrote and she actually believed. I don’t think we should get caught up with the little things which are inconsequential. I think what gets me the most is the higher standard that Palin is being held to. Romney says and has done things that should make us all cringe, many of the other candidates have offenses that should disqualify them for any serious conservative but it seems too many of us end up back at the status quo. Looking for that candidate that perfect candidate. There is a reason Palin is derided, she has the moxy to speak her mind and dares to thumb her nose at all those ‘in the know’.

I rest my case. If she kept quiet, there'd be nothing to clarify and nothing for the media to misinterpret.

Yeah, nothing like keeping quiet in order not to have your words twisted around. So then no Republicans ever comment about anything. They just let the Left say what they want. Day after day.

I just love how the Left drives how we pick our candidates. Every freaking election cycle.

I don’t think Governor Palin will be able to win over those who are convinced that she is an idiot, any more than Reagan could win over those who considered him an “amiable dunce.” She just has to reach enough independents who haven’t been paying attention.

Then why does she continuously have to explain what she meant the next day?

So why don't you provide more than two examples of where she has had to clarify something the next day?!
