About five years ago the battery in my beat-up VW Beetle had died because I left the lights on overnight.
I was in a hurry to get to work on time so I ran into the house to get my wife to give me a hand to start the car.
I told her to get into our second car, a prehistoric oversized gas guzzler, and use it to push my car fast enough to start it. I pointed out to her that because the VW had an automatic transmission, it needed to be pushed at least 30 mph for it to start. She said fine, hoped into her car and drove off.
I sat there fuming wondering what she could be doing. A minute passed by and when I saw her in the rear-view mirror coming at me at about 40 mph, I realized that I should have been a bit clearer with my directions.

An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she
carried across her neck..
One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered
a full portion of water.
At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.
For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water.
Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments.
But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half
of what it had been made to do.
After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream.
‘I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way
back to your house.’
The old woman smiled, ‘Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path,
but not on the other pot’s side?’
‘That’s because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side
of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them.’
For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table.
Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house.’
Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it’s the cracks and flaws we each have that
make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding.

Hi Amy! Speaking of Buddy, how’s he doing? Sometimes we all have those “slow” days and don’t get done what we wanted to. It’s an “oh, well!”! :)

To All The Caturday Cat~People Of Amy's Place

  Caturday Agenda

For the well versed Feline, some Caturdays are made for nothing more strenuous
Than many intertwined and comfortable Naps wrapped around an event so tenuous
As a cold, damp Day that begins with a sudden unannounced Thunderstorm
That sends the frightened Feline Overlord in search of places secluded and cozy warm

Be it their Pretty One's Bed with its plush, scented Pillows and luscious Sheets
Cleverly explored and Speelunked in more ways than a Caterpillar has tiny feet
Finding that Treasured Spot that defines exquisite Comfort and slowly opens the gates
To the dreams of the Stoic Centurion always on watch for those that might infiltrate
Their Pretty One's vibrant Garden or all that is laid bare to see

When perched upon a Sunny Window Sill when there is no other Favorite Place to be
Or the torrential rains could bring about a burst of delayed Domestic Chores
That sends Their Pretty One scurrying about to pick things forgotten on the Floor
To wash and clean and dry in a delightful ritual no Feline can resist
That requires guile and patience and the Feline's second nature to persist

In quiet calm as The Basket is finally filled with Warm Things way up high
The desire to leap and burrow deep returns and would be a sin to deny
As delicious warmth swirls from toes to tail and all place in between
The clever Feline may silently give Thanks to the wondrous Laundry Day Machines

    :(
So sad to report that we lost Buddy. We had him for exactly 2 weeks.
Marissa and Max were heartbroken. We will get another but want to make sure Max is well first. He is no longer coughing and seems fine.
We may look at puppies again next week. I want to make sure things are back to normal at the Just Household.
:(
