At first glance, the video is funny, just another in the long line of on-air bloopers from news reporters. However, it now appears that KCBS in Los Angeles Serene Branson may have suffered something far more serious than a live TV mistake. Shortly after the bizarre moment in the nights broadcast where she seemed to be unable to speak coherently, Branson was hospitalized with some speculating that she may have had a stroke.
In the video, Branson is attempting to cover the Grammys when her words just turn to gibberish and she tries and fails to correct herself. After the broadcast, the Emmy-nominated reporter was taken to a local hospital. However, this didnt stop the video from quickly going viral and being passed around on Tumblr and YouTube.

Oh my! I hope she recovers. Prayers for her.
My son had a classmate that had a stoke. She was 15 at the time. She never did recover and died a few years later.
Women who smoke and take birth control medication are at very high risk, it can be quite serious.
Poor woman. I hope she’s all right.
Wow! That was strange and disturbing and I hope she’s okay with no residual damage or other ill effects.
Best wishes to her for a full recovery.
May God bless her with a complete recovery.
My guess is a partial complex seizure disorder, or possibly a Grand Mal seizure disorder contolled by medication (but not entirely successfully).
Had a good friend have a stroke while eating lunch
with me. Took a few seconds to realize what had happened.
He got his speech back after a few minutes and denied
any thing wrong, but a few simple tests convinced him
and we got him to hospital, unfortunately he had massive
stokes in the following 24 hrs and died.
Ask the person to touch their nose, if they can’t do it,
bad sign.
Have them walk a straight line, can’t do it, not good.
Have them stick out their tongue, if it curves to one
side, another indicator, get them help fast.
Learn the signs of stroke, save someone’s life.
Poor baby. The frightened look on her face brought tears to my eyes. I hope she makes a full recovery soon.
Yes, that was disturbing. You could tell she was just as surprised as the people listening to her, which is even more disconcerting.
A recent article noted that young folks who are obese are at increased risk of stroke.
It fit right in with the things "the talent" were saying.
Thank You for those pointers. Just watching the video, you knew something was terribly wrong.
Prayers to God that she’s OK :(
She seemed ok at first. After her first few words she started to have real problems. And I don’t think she was drunk or drugged.
I once was working on a TV show and the host had a stroke on the air. The guest was a doctor, and when the host said “I feel poorly, I’m going home” the doctor said “No you’re not, you’re coming to the hospital with me.”
The host came back to work in about three weeks.
Yeah, I don't either. She's too clear-eyed for that. To my completely non-medical mind, it appears like it was something that was happening acutely; Either a stroke or aneurysm, or perhaps some kind of seizure disorder that CharlesMartel described just above.
A stroke is when there is actual damage to the brain tissue from a sustained lack of oxygen supply. The effort is to mimimize the area of brain tissue that suffers from the ischemic episode.
Yes, disturbing, and you can see the realization of something being wrong in her expression. When it is
diagnosed, it would be good instructional vid “on what to watch for with ***_____***malady.”
My aunt had a TIA. She called me from work one night and told me she didn’t feel well. Her arm was numb and she felt weird talking. I told her to stay right there (40 min drive) and I would come get her. When I picked her up and she was sitting in the car, she said she felt better and just wanted to go home and sleep. I told her NO WAY, she was going to hospital, that I thought it might be beginning of stroke and she had to have attention immediately.
Drs. told me I probably saved her life by insisting the hospital. God Bless this reporter. Praying for her.
