I applaud Sarah Palins passion, her adroit sense of humor, and her you-go-girl! gumption. But the more I learn about Sarah Palin, the more I become perplexed by her over-heated gender-bending rhetoric.
I believe we can all agree that men and women should have equal opportunities. But lets not confuse equal opportunities with identical outcomes. Just because a woman has the same right to an education and a decent job doesnt mean she will pursue the identical career path, toil as long, or work as many years as a man.
Men and women have differing proclivities and interests most Americans understand this fact. But then there is the small band of disaffected feminists who adamantly insist any and all social differences are the product of gender discrimination.
So where does the former vice-presidential candidate stand on all of this?
Lets take the gender wage gap. Dozens of studies show that when the relevant factors are taken into account training, experience, hours worked, and so forth any salary difference is smaller than a twinkle in Nancy Pelosis eye.
But during the 2008 presidential campaign, Palin used the myth to skewer her Democratic opponent. Ignoring the fact that most of the top-level staffers in Obamas former Senate office were male, she made this charge: Out on the stump he talks a good game about equal pay for equal work, but according to the Senate payroll records, women on his own staff get just 83 cents for every dollar that the men get.
Ratcheting up womens sense of resentment, Palin then asked, Does he think that the women arent working as hard? Does he think they are 17% less productive?

sit down, shut up get back in the kitchen... he explained...
That leaves no room for an honest critique. Why is it if you don’t agree with her, don’t think she can win etc. you always have to be labeled a hater, despiser, loather or detester etc? It is possible to disagree without hating a person.
But you already know that don’t you?
Conservative women don’t usually run around whining that they are treated unfairly. Conservative feminism is a sham.
Can that fact be reversed? Nothing is impossible, but we cannot afford to take that chance in 2012. WE MUST WIN! And that means by finding a candidate that appeals to ALL voters and who undeniably Conservative. Stop wasting valuable time trying to fix or repackage ruined and tarnished images. That just cannot work.
I hear you on both points.
is it PDS or just plain old sexism?
The only warning we must heed is that the MSM is looking for the next “bob dole” to give the Republicans. This is why the MSM is trolling the recycled candidates. The best rumor to date is that Huckster is not going to run.
We’ll soon see how many running say no to her PAC money.

And yeah... There's more. Even on the LOST treaty her "support" was based on NOT ceding sovereign authority to the UN. Rather than as you apparently are suggesting...
Get over it.
West should be right near the top of the cue.
Whoa...refudiating pissant with reality?
He won’t believe it.
Let’s make these links a little easier for him.

Blind stupidity from what I’m seeing. They’d rather listen to what the Left and the RINO’s are saying, rather than look at what a candidate is actually DOING.
I'm not happy with Sarah on a couple of things, even if I know the "why" of them. This isn't enough for me to want to tear her throat out on the forum like some are figuratively doing.
She's the best thing we've had come along in quite a while. She just doesn't have National exposure, she has International exposure. Yes, most of it is negative... But any publicity is good publicity if you know how to use it to your own advantage. She puts a couple of good people on her team and she's a shoe-in for the next two elections.
[I would like to see someone like DeMint, or Ryan.]
Well Ryan isn’t running and DeMint is unlikely to run, and is not very charismatic anyway.
So, you and the boy genius club can spend the next months savagely kneecapping Palin, but what are you going to do if she is the last man standing on the conservative side? Are you going to fall in behind Romney like the elites want you to?
Oh, that’s right, you guys don’t have a Plan B in case your hypothetical perfect conservative doesn’t miraculously appear. You are great at trashing Palin, but not so great at getting a realistic candidate elected.
“especially the controversy that ignited all the ridicule in 2008, her ill fated interview, with Couric.”
The “controversy” you keep refering to is that Katie Couric heavily edited the Palin interview to make Sarah look as bad as possible, and people like you bought it.
The “controversy” you keep refering to is that Sarah was being prepped by former Romney campaign staffers with a hidden agenda to make sure that the MacCain campaign, and especially Palin, failed. (Yep, they saw her convention speech too, and saw her potential!) For me, I wouldn’t let any one that “likes” Mitt anywear near me, especially covering my back!
The “controversy” you keep refering to is that Sarah’s preppers characterized Coruic interview as one that would be sympathic to Palin and the MacCain Campaign. (Even I know that Couric is a very left leaning Dem. partisan.) So much for Mittbot ethics!
I think that your view on things, such as this, puts you in the same sort of catagory as the perky one, Mittbots, and our very own P’ant (just whisper her name, and he’ll come “p’anting” right after her tossing outright lies and distortions!)
Oh well, if you have no real objection, a made up one is better than nothing!
“But I do know that Sarah helped put John McCain over the top, something I resent her for”
I think that you are giving Palin too much credit.....MacCain, excluding the advantage he enjoyed with incumbancy, had no real viable opposition.
Are you saying that Palin has that much influence over voters? If so, then you are in essence sayin that she is highly electable.....we agree!..... even though we got to that agreement from way different viewpoints!
I never said I supported DeMint or Ryan for candidates, I simply said I would prefer a candidate that was more like them in Conservative ideology.
We need to start looking now, time is running out fast. If we keep on falling back into the same old rut like we did in ‘08, then we will lose far more than a mere election and you know it.
Oh, thats right, you guys dont have a Plan B in case your hypothetical perfect conservative doesnt miraculously appear. You are great at trashing Palin, but not so great at getting a realistic candidate elected.”
Well said!

I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s because she’s a woman. Kinda makes me wonder if I’ll ever see a woman President (or VP, for that matter) in my lifetime.
