I know that a lot of fellow FReepers stream Netflix.
What are your suggestions for movies that may not have received the attention or respect that they deserved?
What are you those gems that are worth watching again?
How about that obscure movie that you tell people they should watch?
Bonus points for links, pics or video of the movie you are talking about.
I'll start;
Firefly - The complete series.
Nothing like a good old fashioned cowboys in space series. Excellent cast, tight writing and a fan demanded ending. Highly recommended.
Zombieland
Guns, zombies and jokes. What more can you ask? The normally nauseating Woody Harrelson at his redneck best. And seat belts, remember to wear your seat belt.
Centurion
A Euro production that got little notice in the States, it is one of the rare Romans vs Barbarian movies that actually makes you root for the Roman.
Well, those are the first few, what is in your instant queue ?

Ping....
I enjoyed watching the jerk again. Also district 9 is a must.
Spartacus Blood and Sand and Gods of the Arena.
City Island is worth a watch too if you need a break from non-stop gore and sex.
Not a movie, but of you have never watched the Monk TV series, it’s all on Netflix and it’s excellent! I just finished watching the last season and it’s depressing to think that there are no more episodes to watch.
A great, yet short-lived spy series staring Daniel Craig.
I have been enjoying Dr Who
Dragonfly
Ink
Ink is a fantasy independent movie. Really pretty cool. Nice message about redemption.
Delicatessen
Delicatessen is a French film. Kind of a black comedy. A little odd but a pleasure to watch.
“The IT Crowd” British comedy series. Funny, you’ll see.
I saw District 9 on instant watch. I REALLY liked that movie!
Props on the obscure screen name ;)
I see you a Dragonfly and raise you a My cousin Vinny

I watched it again after 10 years and it still cracks me up.

I’ve watched all the Netflix live-stream offerings for the Sherlock Holmes series with Jeremy Brett, and I’m making my way through “Have Gun, Will Travel” starring Richard Boone. I’ve also just started watching the first season of “Wagon Train.”
Dark Shadows
The Big Lebowski
Sophie Scholl: The Final Days
24
Blackadder, Hogfather (Terry Pratchett, tongue-in-cheek fantasy),Archangel, Dark Shadows (the original soap)
You’ll get a lot of movie suggestions, I’m sure; but as you list series (Firefly) let me suggest a few more:
- Red Dwarf
- The IT Crowd
- Crest of the Stars
- Tenchi Myuo
black hawk down is a favorite of mine. As for Zombieland triple yes!! Best zombie movie ever.
I love Red Dwarf!
Try The Straight Story. Really good.
