While checking in for my flight this morning in Nashville, TN I saw a man, (light skinned, bald, 5'7", 220lbs) taking photographs of the people standing in line at the airline ticket counter and then walking over to where he could see people standing in line waiting to have their ID and boarding passes checked at the first TSA station and taking a couple more pictures.
Red flags and bells went off in my head like crazy. The guy wasn't taking pictures like you would take pictures of your family standing in line. No, he wasn't looking to get vacation photos to post on facebook and he wasn't a professional photographer (inexpensive camera and he was not setting up shots). I watched him for a minute taking photos and then watched him go into the restroom that could be seen from the TSA ID checkpoint.
So, being a good citizen concerned with safety, I immediately went to the first TSA agent and told them what happened. You would think that they would immediately call someone over and see what the heck this guy was doing, but, no, the supervisor they called over was more concerned with dealing with the lady who had misplaced her driver's license. After a moment, he FINALLY listened to my story and seemed to be only mildly interested and not concerned at all. So, to be sure that maybe I hadn't just given possibly vital information to a moron who would be too stupid to follow up, I told two more supervisors. Since I had to catch my flight, I could do no more.
Maybe I was overreacting, but I think that the guy just might be collecting info for something bad.
Any other Freepers seen anything strange lately?
Yeah, I’ve been looked at strangely when innocently taking pictures in the recent past, so maybe it wasn’t anything nefarious.
But shame on the TSA losers for ignoring a perfect “see something, say something” moment.
Yet another reason to shrink the government’s size and scope.
WHOA! Wal Mart? A nice place to leave. Nothing you need but plenty of what you don’t. It reminds me of a Trading Post where they traded beads for Beaver Pelts.
maybe you should have contacted Janet on her toll-free hotline/s
Did you expect them to close the terminal and then spend a few hours rescreening everyone?
“See something, say something.”
Big Sis is waiting to take your call. Service means citizenship.
I thought of that AFTER I passed through security.
Welcome to Planet Napolitano.
hit the photos icon...good God!
He wasn’t in the secure area.
I don’t even fly any more, it’s nuts. I want security. If they have muslim-free flights where everyone has a background check, frequent flyer, etc., etc., that would be one thing. It used to be soooo easy, really easy. It gets so old if you fly a lot, the major carriers used to make it bearable. Once they got taken by surprise by the boom ending and they had to start cutting costs, then I don’t like the whole idea because I know maintenance will suffer. The security problems are just the icing on the cake. I wonder if businesses could do group charters to provide safety and quality, like netjets but include the larger types.
Go over and ask the guy what he is doing. And if he gets lippy, draw your fire arm, stuck it up his nose and put him on the floor./s
guarantee he was just a perv.
Every time I see that pic, I have to remind myself he’s only 22 years old. In addition to being plain weird looking, he appears at least twice his age.
If he wan’t in the secure area and not breaking any laws, then why would anyone care?
1. casual traveler snapping pictures of country music performer he recognized in line at the ticket counter.
2. sports enthusiast taking picture of a candidate leaving town after interviewing for Tennessee Titans Head coaching position OR
3.Free lance photographer doing the legwork for upcoming bombshell report on democrat politician.
I will let you choose.

The plan is to have biometrics in place by April 2011 in America. It will not be implanted, but you will have to carry it.
You were in Walmart?
Because just maybe he is gathering intel for a sleeper terrorist group and we KNOW that terrorists have been sneaking into the US through the southern border for years.
