I just drove home in THAT SAME SNOWSTORM in a 2WD pickup, low on gas so no extra weight in the back, unplowed roads, and just had to take it easy and keep my hands free for unexpected countersteering.

The east coast Megalopolis was hit with a snow storm this morning, is being hit with a snow storm tonight, will be hit with an Alberta Clipper system Friday, a second Alberta Clipper system on Sunday, followed by a possible monster mid-Atlantic storm developing into a Nor'easter next Tuesday to Wednesday. All because BoBo is warming of course /s.

I've been getting e-mails from my mom, two hours west, up in Allegany County. They've gotten at least 6" so far and it's still coming down. She said I-68 is almost at a standstill, and the scanner is going nuts with all the wrecks in the area. I've been looking at the MDOT live and still highway cams, and it is a mess up there.

LOL. Try Atlanta in an ice storm some time. These poeple can't drive in the rain. I was leaving for work by 5:30 am to avoid as many other people as possible. On day two I has to go off road to get off the interstate at a corner where 30 vehicles ahead of me had all slid to the center, including several semis and four wheel drives.

Yesterday it was pretty clear that this would be 1 inch of water translated into 6 inches of snow, impossible to drive in for enough percent of the cars around here that they would block everybody else. That is what has happened, there are literally one or two cars blocking hundreds, then some of those run out of gas, etc.
