I'm seeing this one at numerous points on the web this afternoon, including anthropology.net and Nature Magazine's website, best seems to be the Hawks blog I'm citing as an url.
The gist of the story seems to be that the chimpanzee genome study published in 05 was seriously flawed and tht the corresponding idea of the genetic gap between modern man and the chimpanzee is no longer operative.
Hawk is clearly an evolutionist looking for evolutionist solutions, but he appears to state the problem accurately:
..."Indeed, at 6 million years of separation, the difference in MSY gene content in chimpanzee and human is more comparable to the difference in autosomal gene content in chicken and human, at 310 million years of separation."
Maybe the two of you should define your terms and the scope of your statements before getting into an all-out cat fight.

Cheers!
Really? What does the word 'rib' as used in Genesis 2:21 literally mean from its 'origin'. The word 'rib' got used by someone long before the DNA image was ever discovered. But DNA sure is 'curvy'.
It certainly was and the "bolt" was used to bolster the claim of the relationship between the two "cars". In any case, this image shows that the discussion concerns more than a single base pair.
Without the general labels "human" or "chimpanzee" could you reasonably claim any close relationship between the two chromosomes?
I’m not about fighting at this point. I’ve done my studying and have come to the conclusion that God made us, the animals and our environment without ‘evolving’ us from a single cell or a common ancestor.
There is enough evidence out there to support that, but being that I’m not a scientist, getting into it wouldn’t yield much.
God made us all with free will, which gives us the power to choose what we want to believe. I choose God. If someone else chooses to put their faith in the ‘uncaused cause’ which brought about life in many forms, the flora, and the fauna, from base elements, then that’s their choice.
What happens because of it, is between God and them.
