Three men were arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty on Friday after Morgan Hill police discovered a goat hog-tied in the trunk of their car, a police sergeant said.
A patrol officer pulled over the car after the driver cut him off on Monterey Road near San Pedro Avenue, Morgan Hill police Sgt. Jerry Neumayer said.
The driver, 40-year-old Ciro Paredes of Morgan Hill, did not have a driver's license, and the officer smelled alcohol in the vehicle, according to Neumayer.
During a search of the car, the patrol officer found open beer cans and plastic bags filled with what he suspected was crystal methamphetamine, Neumayer said.
The patrol officer reported that he heard what he thought was a crying baby coming from the trunk of the car, according to Neumayer.
The officer looked in the trunk and found a goat that had been hog-tied. The animal was malnourished but alive, Neumayer said.

I’m at a loss for words over this. It is wrong in so many ways.
I hope the goat ends up adopted by someone out of a shelter.
They’ll do more time for the goat than they will for the license, beer, and meth put together.
Sex slave?
bastards!
Not funny. Hang the bastards!
Can you hogtie a goat?

Regarding your Post #3, I am in full agreement. Hopefully, the goat will be able to spend the rest of its life on a hobby farm or even a petting zoo.
Abusing animals that Americans won’t abuse...
You forgot the sarcasm tag, or do you really believe killing three men is justice?
Or maybe butcher and eat the thing for new years dinner.
The slaughter of a goat is often a satanic ritual.
Three drunk Mexicans in a car with a tied up goat in the trunk? The answer seems pretty obvious to me—they were taking it home and were going to eat it. Is it cruelty to slaughter a goat and eat it? Arrest them for having open containers in the car or driving drunk, but this seems a stretch to call it animal cruelty.
I hate to tell y’all, but cabrito is might tasty. It has long been popular in parts of the South (because it’s a thrifty animal and sheep, the main meat competitor, are hard to raise in tropical climates), and now that there are an increasing number of Caribbean immigrants, it has become even more popular.
Article identifies the suspects by name but does not mention anything about their background. Did they have drivers licences and insurance?? Maybe they took the goat in payment. Goats are a popular food in Mexico. Tacos de birria (goat meat) tastes like mutton. Yes I have eaten it.
A malnourished goat probably would not make a good dinner, at least not for this New Year’s celebration.
Cabrito: BBQ Goat.
Hogtieing the goats that Americans won’t hogtie.
Cabrito - extra lean.
