Just wondering if anyone else out there is spending the evening alone. Not necessarily a bad thing. I'm sipping a cappuccino and taking in "A Christmas Story" in the old man cave. I'll be with family tomorrow, but as of tonight, it's my faithful Boxer and me. And Ralphie.
Gee, and here I thought *you* were that “The Most Interesting Man In The World” dude.
[or is tonight just one of the nights you don’t always drink beer?]
:D
It was the night before Christmas and Muffie cuddled near by
I gently petted her coat as she licked the tears from my eye
She seemed to say why Mommy why are you so sad today
I love you, I need you, I promise to stay
I reached out and touched her fluffy white coat
And bit my lip, lest I say love was a joke
Except with God who is there always for you
Never count on empty words to always be true
That little pea in your pod that is waiting to emerge
Will stay as long as they need you, then fly like a bird
So listen my Muffie, from one mom to one in wait
Nor in blood nor in bond ever count on your fate
...
You don’t want regrets, so please listen my kit
Don’t let your babies let you to feel like shit
You see what it has done to your mother’s heart
Now walk into the New Year and please be smart
Same thing happened to a friend of mine. Her molester was a family friend and too important to her mother’s cocktail-party social network to be charged or even shunned. He remained a frequent, welcome guest in their home... . Just awful. She only told me about it after her mother died and I regret not having the chance to have a few words with her.
A mother who looks away is as much a monster as the one who hurts a child.
I wish you joy today and that, one day, you can kill that “clown” and sleep in peace
Thanks, Sarge!
Right back atcha!
Tried that...even “Losing My Religion” was over their heads....;D
Take care my friend!
“A mother who looks away is as much a monster as the one who hurts a child.”
Possibly more so.
A mother is supposed to protect and love her kid.
I know if I’d had a kid and somebody molested him/her, I’d have just gut shot the bastard and done my time, cheerfully.
Hmmmm...I wonder if you just psychoanalyzed my current tag line?....:)
[I never know what my subconscious is up to, the tight-lipped, enigmatic, secretive little thing]
Ironically, every time they sent me to some head shrinker to find out “why I am not like them” [as though *that* was a bad thing] -every- analyst said I shouldn’t be there...~they~ should.
I gave up. I got this cat won’t leave me alone if we are eating. She just wants to be part of the pride.
Doesn’t matter if she just ate, I have to put something in her bowl. Chicken or fish, cleaned of spices and the chicken skin. Beef sometimes.
Dang thing still won’t jump up on my lap so I can pet her without bending over. If I pick her up she gets very antsy and when I put down she lets out this weird but cute girl cat sound and starts walking against my leg or throws herself on the ground just a begging for some petting.
Poor thing. I tell I will sew thumbs on her so she can get a job that pays well enough for to buy whatever she wants.
She lets me know in not so subtle ways she ain’t having any of that and she is the princess around here. “Now get me my stuff and scratch my ears, peasant”.
“Yes ma’am” I say with all fealty.
So the grapes come from Fulton. Terrific!
I’m ordering some.
Thanks!
Damn it! I wish I was still living in Greenville, DE. I would drive down just to give you hug and let you know you are loved unconditionally.
I never met you but I love you as a sister.
Merry Christmas!
Nothing like the "glow of electric sex" :o)
Just be careful or you'll shoot your eye out!
What a great and timeless movie.
As for us, the missus and me live in New Hampshire while our oldest son and his family live in Piedmont, OK and our youngest son lives in Alpharetta, GA. The financial and economic circumstances being what they are, there is not a lot under the tree and no one is able to travel anywhere this Christmas, but God is good all the time, no matter what.
This evening we attended a Charismas eve service at our Baptist church. The service was very well attended with many visitors from the area. The fellowship was sweet, the special music and congregational Charismas songs were excellent and Christ-centered. Afterwards the pastor presented the true meaning of Christmas and everyone there was given the opportunity to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their savior which is the greatest gift of all.
After the service was over we came home to egg nog and watched the musical SCROOGE with Albert Finney and Alec Guinness (a long-standing family tradition). After that I watched A Christmas Story and then decided to check FR so here I am.
We have been invited to a friend in Christ's home for Christmas dinner tomorrow. The wife is making scalloped potatoes and I am bringing my world famous Crab Dip... yum.
Yes we are alone, but in Christ one is never really alone.
May God grant all on FR a very MERRY CHRISTMAS as we focus upon the real meaning of Christmas =
The Lord Jesus Christ has come into this world, He became a man... God incarnate and He came into the world to save sinners. Jesus came to live a sinless life and to then give his life a ransom for many by dying upon the cross as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. God the Father was totally satisfied with Jesus one sacrifice upon the cross and He demonstrated this fact by raising Jesus Christ from the dead, never to die again and He will eternally save and forgive any and all who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and who trust in Him and Him alone to save them from their sin.
Our hope and prayer is that everyone here might believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to the saving of their soul. If you do, God Himself promises you will have eternal life and you will never, not ever perish i.e., go to hell (See John 3:16). He also promises that once you believe on Jesus you will never again be alone because Jesus promises to be with you always, even to the end of the age... the end of time itself!
MERRY CHRISTMAS and God bless us every one!
Merry Christmas Eaker !
Simple Green is best for Cosmoline !.......;o)
Stay safe Bud !
Many years ago I realized that there were many people we know alone on Christmas Eve for various reasons. I started doing a Christmas Eve open house. Kids are welcome. We do tamales, rice, and beans and cocktails.
We never know who will show up but always have a house full and everyone has a good time.
Word that!
You only go place you are safe and with people you are absolutely safe to be around.
Never allow yourself to be “the bigger person” and expose yourself to someone whose mere presence undermines your emotions, spirit and soul.
We would. If you would stop posting it long enough to give us a chance. :-))
Please thank your daughters for their service and let them know how proud we all are of them and of all who wear our nations uniform and who serve in and out of harms way to keep America safe and free.
LMAO!
And I almost forgot.......Merry Christmas!
*heeheehee*
