I don't know where to post this zot.

I am starting a project and want to know if someone would like to help me do it. Once started we can develop a reset button for this economic structure.

It might help if we took a step beck up the text, a bit to pick up some additional info.

“And he that walked with me had a golden reed to measure the city withal...and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs...and he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty four cubits, by the measure of man, that is, of the Angel.” — Rev. 21:15-17 1599GEN

We don’t find out how long this reed is, but the angel measures some things with it, and John gives us the numbers along with this statement “by the measure of a man” to emphasize that the units given are the same ones his readers would be familiar with, which is further supported by the appended “that is, of the Angel,” which draws an equality between “the measure of a man” and that “of the Angel.”

IOW, a cubit’s a cubit’s a cubit.

We don’t know how many cubits high the angel is, but John doesn’t comment on his size, so it doesn’t seem that the angel would be either inordinately large or small. Elsewhere, when things are of unusually great or small size, John gives appropriate descriptors, so I’d think it an unusual omission for John not to comment if the angel had been of some fantastic size.

We have to experiment with the things that are considered taboo in society, and our generation was no better than the one before us or worse than the next one, and so on.

Given the appropriate amount of time and education/observation, we conform to what is best for us because we recognize that it is.

“Water seeks its own level,” and the best we can do is teach our children to think about the consequences of their actions. The rest is up to them.

It’s not fun if people get upset.

YUP! That's the measuring stick at our house, too. When someone isn't having fun, anymore, it isn't a game, anymore, and it needs to stop, at least long enough for the one who's not having fun to leave the scene.

“And then we slagged down Ceres for some raw material, Pallas was just an innocent bystander. Honest!” the crew of the expedition looked glumly at the floor.
It wasn’t every day the crew was admonished for kibble-izing asteroids.
But the astronomical association on Earth had called, and they were plenty upset that major asteroids were missing.
They’d said something about gravitational perturbances and missing main belt mass that was neeed to regulate the main belt.
It wasn’t like they would miss it for long, after all things were being built from those seemingly worthless floating rock piles!
But, what was done was done.
Ceres by now had added several long frame tendrils to the Hab, Pallas had been processed near completely.

“Is now a bad time to mention that we have full tanks of tholins from Sedna?”

Exactly. If Pat freaks out unprovoked, we just send him outside or to bed ;-).

His impersonation of a human is getting better - he goes to Sunday School and Cub Scouts with only occasional problems ... none in Sunday School, and the one in Cub Scouts was because a list of items the leader wrote wasn’t alphabetized! Scouts starts at 7:00 p.m., and he’s crazier when he’s tired.

Cute, but only an alien would be foolish enough to meddle with Ceres. Round worlds need to be left alone.

Of course, if you're ambitious, you could wrap it in plastic so it would hold air. Then it would be fun to farm and play in, while keeping an eye on the radiation.

The encapsulization could be done in stages, as surface domes expanded to the horizon.

Most other "terraforming" will be done with mirrors.

Of course, I want to terraform Mars, partly with mirrors, and to add an atmosphere using ships.

There are plenty of centaurs and other easily reached cometary bodies that can be grabbed for processing.
Of course, one would have to watch out for cyanogen and have safeguards in place.
But the other ices can be catalyzed for use.
