Don't let FreeRepublic become DemocratUnderground.

Posted on 11/18/2010 10:38:27 AM PST by Democrats hate too much

Free Republic is a pro-life, pro-family, pro-liberty constitutional conservative activist web site. Those who cannot live with that should simply stay away!! (saves wear and tear on my zot button - bitterly clinging redneck, Jim)

Romney is an unrepentant abortionist/statist lying political whore! Just to be absolutely clear, there will never ever be a RINO Romney campaign on FR!! If he somehow becomes the nominee, FR will be running a full-time campaign to DEFEAT him!! If you wish to support him then I suggest you sign off FR and onto Wankers for Mitt!!

Those statments make me worry that FreeRepublic is moving toward a DemocratUnderground kind of stance toward their users. Romney may have done some mistakes like Health Car but I have constantly heard him say that universal helath care was a mistake. If I'm wrong, so what. Lets not kick good Republicans off this site because of their views on abortion and Mitt Romney. Look, if someone says something good about Romney, fine. State your point and try to change that person's views. We are not kicking them off the site! That is DemocratUnderground style dumb. It's what they do.

I see. Well, in several exchanges with you through the years, I have learned that you certainly do not need “back up”. An editor, maybe.....

That was probably it. But acorn squash is my favorite.

An editor, maybe.....

That is something I believe many of us can agree on. Always good to end on a conciliatory note.

I prefer butternut or Hubbard. But Hubbards are so huge you have to really, really like them.

They’re sweeter and drier than acorns.

Now your mask is coming off. You nauseate me.

Sorry, but I'm not sure I understand what bothers you.

Are you upset because I claimed too many conservatives like the circular firing squad? Or are you upset because you like the circular firing squad, and are upset that I don't?

Assuming it is the former, I think "circular firing squad" is a reasonable analogy for the attacks too often launched against fellow conservatives for the gain of a particular political candidate. You get to where everybody is saying so many bad things about other candidates, that all you remember is all the bad stuff, and people like McCain get elected.

In any case, not sure what "mask" you think is coming off. I've been bemoaning the "attack each other" form of conservatism pretty much from the day I showed up here at FR. And I believe there are a lot of Freepers who agree with me in that assessment, even though I also believe there are a lot that like the rough-and-tumble of tearing each other down, and think it helps their cause or their candidates.

I want to vote for the conservative that most of the conservatives like, not be stuck with the conservative that is torn down the least by the primary process.

We’ve had butternut too. I don’t know what hubby puts in the acorn squash. He cuts them in half and puts butter in the “crater” with some other stuff and it bakes SWEET!

You should be more specific, and identify what type of troll you believe me to be.

A “defend Romney” troll for one. You are not a conservative.

"Wankers for Mitt"

I laugh aloud each time I see this and I intend on voting for whomever the GOP nominee is. Hopefullly that will be Pence, DeMint or the lady from Wasilla with the ill-mannered daughters.

Every couple of years I buy raw cranberries and make a dozen or so pints of cranberry sauce and can it. Waterbath.

Then I can have cranberry sauce whenever I want it. I make it pretty much like the recipe on the bag but maybe a tad less sugar.

It sets up nice and firm since cranberries have so much pectin. They grow in OR and I’d love to get local berries but I have no idea how to get them.

I’ve always voted a straight R ticket since I had sense. But it was very hard voting for McCainmutiny, and there is no way I could ever vote for Mittens. I wouldn’t respect myself in the morning.

You are saying that sticking to conservative principles and those espousing conservative principles is the same thing as a circular firing squad.

That’s what nauseates me.
