Free Republic is a pro-life, pro-family, pro-liberty constitutional conservative activist web site. Those who cannot live with that should simply stay away!! (saves wear and tear on my zot button - bitterly clinging redneck, Jim)
Romney is an unrepentant abortionist/statist lying political whore! Just to be absolutely clear, there will never ever be a RINO Romney campaign on FR!! If he somehow becomes the nominee, FR will be running a full-time campaign to DEFEAT him!! If you wish to support him then I suggest you sign off FR and onto Wankers for Mitt!!
Those statments make me worry that FreeRepublic is moving toward a DemocratUnderground kind of stance toward their users. Romney may have done some mistakes like Health Car but I have constantly heard him say that universal helath care was a mistake. If I'm wrong, so what. Lets not kick good Republicans off this site because of their views on abortion and Mitt Romney. Look, if someone says something good about Romney, fine. State your point and try to change that person's views. We are not kicking them off the site! That is DemocratUnderground style dumb. It's what they do.
You seem to be missing the main point of this thread, which is, liberals and their supporters aren't welcome on this forum. The "lesser of two evils" is still evil.
I voted for Mike Dabno here in the Illinois contest for U.S. Senate. Never heard of him? He got a little over 2% of the vote but was pro life and the most conservative person on the ballot.
Illinois got a new Senator (Mark Kirk) who calls himself "republican" but who, in fact is more liberal than most democrats. He has a 10 year record in the House that proves it.
I'll never vote for a liberal, I don't give a big rats ass what letter he has behind his name.
You are right, thank you for the correction.
I, for one, well remember.
He's unrepentant in my opinion but perhaps is wise enough to not be so vocal about whom he supports/defends.
Although I would like to forget what happened in 2008, it is important that we remember, lest we repeat that disaster.
Is that the best you can do for an opus?
Dontcha think it deserves its own vanity post?
Turns out that Romneycare was nothing more than the blueprint for Obamacare.
Good points. How many millions of his own money did he invest in his campaign last time around? I think that the MSM wants him to be the Republican candidate, and the real support for him may be much less than it appears.
When the time comes, as it surely will, when we face that awesome moment, the final judgment, I've often thought, as Fulton Sheen wrote, that it is a terrible moment of loneliness. You have no advocates, you are there alone standing before God
I beg to differ. My Advocate will be standing on the right hand of God. His blood atoned for my sins.
Yes, at the great white throne I, like everyone else will answer to Almighty God but I do have an Advocate in my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
And lest anyone forget, the story about him being a "self-made man" is just another on of the myths.
I don’t know what you THINK we are talking about. The thread is about the Romney File Headers on the threads.
The three things I mention are the three videos I remember seeing in the rotating list of Romney attacks. That is what I am talking about, not the entirety of the arguments of 2007.
Since I wrote that comment, I have seen another video in the playlist, the one about Romneycare. So I had missed that earlier. And there certainly could be more than those 4, that’s the four I’ve noticed, as I said in my previous post.
It is interesting though that in this post, you admit that you clearly remember me defending Romney in many posts (I believe you have greatly exagerated the number, but it was a LOT of posts); which makes even more bizarre your claim that I was hiding my defense of Romney somehow.
Apparently you think I was secretly supporting Romney by brazenly defending him in “thousands of posts”, with “5 to 7 posts stacked on each other”. I guess I was hiding in plain site or something.
My goal then was really not much different than now — to try to get people to focus on the positives for their candidates, rather than simply destroy all other candidates, so that in the end if we manage to get a conservatve nominated, they won’t have been destroyed already like O’Donnell was in Delaware (in that case by liberal/moderates, but the principle is the same).
Too many conservatives like the circular firing squad.
Onyx is a lovely lady. :)
It likely seemed to be that long ago, because being separated from Free Republic is so very painful. I understand. :)
I always thought she was a little scary. :-)
Those and more, if I recall correctly.
I live in Illinois but you won’t see that on my home page. I joined the Illinois message board and the Illinois flag appeared on my home page. Then a few Illinois people on the board got “copy and paste” happy and started posting extremely long posts which had to be scrolled through to get to news/activism on the main page. Perhaps that has changed by now.
I could not figure out how to opt out of the message board but did manage to learn how to change it to something else. I changed it to the Congo and guess what? So far not one message to scroll through to get to what I want to read.
I’m not trying to mislead anyone. Someone tell me in fairly simple terms how to opt out of any message board and still fly a state flag, I’ll do it.
Didn't F.R. start in November 1997? Hardly spring in November.
FR was launched in February of 97.
Didn’t miss the point of the thread at all. I was replying to a poster that made a point that I directed my response to. Your final sentence makes the point I was making. Thank you.
I will be surprised if he doesn’t try to buy this election as well.
When you mention her name in a reply, it would be good form to include her name in the address bar.
