Romney is an unrepentant abortionist/statist lying political whore! Just to be absolutely clear, there will never ever be a RINO Romney campaign on FR!! If he somehow becomes the nominee, FR will be running a full-time campaign to DEFEAT him!! If you wish to support him then I suggest you sign off FR and onto Wankers for Mitt!!
Those statments make me worry that FreeRepublic is moving toward a DemocratUnderground kind of stance toward their users. Romney may have done some mistakes like Health Car but I have constantly heard him say that universal helath care was a mistake. If I'm wrong, so what. Lets not kick good Republicans off this site because of their views on abortion and Mitt Romney. Look, if someone says something good about Romney, fine. State your point and try to change that person's views. We are not kicking them off the site! That is DemocratUnderground style dumb. It's what they do.

Of course, if the stated purpose of the site is to be anti-Romney, and if we’ve driven everybody away who would say anything good about Romney, it is likely that the opinion of the site will be severely discounted.
I’m pretty sure we can keep Romney out — all we’d have to do is all vote for Obama.
With freerepublic as an anti-Romney site, that will hurt Romney's chances severely, and I really have to disagree with you that Mitt Romney is our only chance against the Democrats, but it is nice to see you maintaining your deep support for the guy, it shows loyalty.
I share your concerns, but I don’t think Romney will get very far. Not with romneycare and his ever-changing positions.
He’s an “also ran” and couldn’t buy the nomonation last time, so why should he look better now this time around, when romneycare is new baggage for him?

I didn't say that. But I'm not surprised that you completely mis-state my position, as you do that a lot.
I'm not sure how it benefits you to argue against a non-statement, but if it makes you feel better, maybe that is it's own reward.
My point is that if all we are is "anti-Romney", we'll end up with Obama. In my opinion, we need to find a conservative we can all support, and then support that candidate.
I certainly don't think Romney is "our only hope" against democrats (or even "a hope" for that matter), although in order to stop that, we need to do more than be "anti-Romney". So it turns out that while you think you are disagreeing with me, I'm actually agreeing with you.

I understand LJ’s reaction as trolls can do damage with misinformation and discouragement tactics. Infiltration is something that isn’t tolerated. When all else fails, they post things that are inappropriate in order to cause trouble and get FR labeled as a hate site. As a Freeper, you do need to be concerned. And watchful. We’ve even had 2 lefty reporters plant stuff on here. Discrediting FR is a goal of the left.
