I had two opinions in the past two days. I saw a missile in the sky over California. Is saw an Islamic crescent in the Google logo. You didn't see it? Fine.
But the invective, the insults, the bitterness this launched has shocked me to the core. What in the heck is going on here?

You are correct. If you search for the normal Google logo, it has a pointy “e” on it as well.
And yet, here you are....
I did not read the all the news reports about this case, so really I can’t comment on it. All I know is that it happened at around 5 pm, during rush hour traffic and people saw it and went into panic mode. I know Glenn Beck did a spin on it and said “maybe someone in the military spilled coffee on the launch control button”. I will guess that what ever this was went up too fast to be a plane. I just don’t know enough facts however.

I’m glad you stepped in but this might be news to you - not all of us are “guys” and the rudeness here is getting pretty tiresome. Some might want to give some thought to that. We used to come here for thoughtful discussions and debates - not insults - which makes one believe that yes - the liberals are infiltrating as that’s their MO.
The level of rancor and immaturity are way up. Conservatives on this forum had been known for civility and the search for truth.

I personally haven’t seen the footage but my ..uh.. staff is looking at it and .. um.. analyzing it. If it turns out to be an .... um... missile we’ll issue a statement...uh... at that time.
Oh and I...uh.. almost forgot. This problem is one that the Bush administration failed to deal with in a timely manner.

I think you said it better than I did. It’s not the same old FR and it’s annoying. I, for one come here for hours every day as I’m retired and can afford to spend the time but not for the insults and name calling.
Recently (perhaps since the election) things have gotten mean around here. I did a very unscientific test and checked the sign-up date for three jerks who were annoying me about four days ago. Every single one of that group signed up in June 2010. Could be a coincidence. I dunno.
But there are definitely people on here who are not Conservatives and who are just trying to bring down the level of discussion to something more like the muddle-headed mumblings you can see over at DU.
Right now may not be the most contentious I've ever seen here, but it ranks up there.

That isn’t enough for me but its enough for me to say that someone who see a rocket in that picture is not the equivalent of a flat Earther. And certainly not someone whose intelligence and sanity deserves to be insulted.
