Amazing, just amazingly unbelievable. I remember years ago when you could feed the black bears from your car in Yellowstone park. They have since discouraged everyone from doing it. The bears became violent at times when they didn't get fed.

My son in law got a small black bear this year...about 200 lbs. It was on their 200 acre camp.

My 45 year old daughter says she's not afraid of them. I beat her head against the wall until she said...okay, okay...I'm afraid....

I like bears. These black bears are often fairly timid. The man in this video needs to get a job.

I don’t give a rat’s ass how popular they are: I believe tree stand hunting is TOTALLY unsportsmanly. Some jackass built one on my property a few years ago and I was happy to leave him the charred remains.

I don't think that bear climbed the ladder just to see what he could see.

Either deer bait had been placed on the platform so it's smell could travel farther than by spreading it on the ground or, the guy had some honey oats granola bars in his pocket.

Why the idiot isn't shooting the bear with something besides a camera is beyond me.

Because it is a Black Bear and they rarely attack. Some are just a bit too social. We sometimes have black bears knock over our trash can.

That’s a great video and the man in the tree stand was wise and compassionate. Why shoot the bear? If he began to attack or looked like he would attack the man could have done what was necessary to save his life. The bear just looked curious and was certainly not aggressive. Perhaps the man had some kind of weapon that he could have used had it been necessary. As my husband said if he DID look like he was going to get aggressive, a shot in the air probably would have made him run. Shoot the bear as he began to climb the ladder??? No way. This man is a true sportsman!! Good for the man in the tree.

That bear is so cute, I’m glad he didn’t shoot it.

I remember years ago when you could feed the black bears from your car in Yellowstone park.

Summer 2008 vacation in Grand Teton and Yellowstone: never saw a bear in a week's time while camped in an RV park in GT. I kept waiting for one but never saw one.

This video shows what most wildlife specialists say about bears, that they prefer to avoid humans as long as they don't perceive them as a source of food from poor camp management habits while in bear country.

Looks like the bear just followed the scent directly to the tree. Curiosity almost got the bear. Amazing video.

The bear video is okay but while there check out some of the other videos. On the bear one I clicked “previous” and there is a native making music with bamboo sticks and rocks. Really interesting.

I’m going to go out on a limb here..... and suggest that he didn’t shoot the bear ............. because he didn’t have a gun. LMAO

I don't know about the bear but I would have definitely been sh@tting in the woods if I was holding that camera.

We saw four bear while deer hunting, but they were all eager to steer clear of us. One momma with two cubs sent her cubs up a tree, and ran up after them. ...I used to hike an unmarked trail in the Gila, in a canyon that was home to a huge black bear. One day I was sitting near a swimming hole, and noticed the bear walking up the trail on the other side of the stream. I figured he would smell me or see me and run, but he kept waddling along, starting across the stream. When he was about ten feet away I pumped the shotgun and shouted “Hey Bear.” It was amazing how fast that huge bear spun around to run back up the trail. I encountered that bear many times, and he always gave me plenty of room.

... the moment the bear started climbing the ladder I would have made a rug out of him for my living room floor.

There's always room for all of G#d's creatures ... right next to the mashed potatoes.

Apparently, bear steaks are pretty tasty with enough Lee & Perrins Worcestershire sauce on them.
