It is billed as the happiest place on Earth where workers are known as cast members rather than employees. But life in Disneys Magical Kingdom is not so magical, according to a survey of the best U.S. companies to work for. Disney ranked 41st in the list, dozens of places below the army, where soldiers on deployment to Afghanistan face the daily threat of death from roadside bombs and extremists. All four branches of the military ranked higher than Disney, which employs more than 100,000 worldwide in theme parks including those in Florida, California and Paris. Disgruntled Disney workers have dubbed the parks Mousewitz because they were so unhappy with working conditions.

VERY Gay Friendly atmosphere. Typical liberals
I’d rather visit Yosemite back country......
“That’s why it’s called work!” - Red Forman.
I was there last week for Neice’s birthday present.
Everyone is very friendly. If I had to be that friendly all the time, I’d be disgruntled too. All those kids pawing at you, dealing with the ignorant demanding public ugh. Nightmare.
I can see where having to listen to “It’s a Small World After All” over, and over, and over again - would make one wish they were in Afghanistan getting shot at.
I got stuck on that ride, in the middle of the Polyneasian display for 20 minutes of pure hell.

My daughter works at Disney (albeit not at a park) and thinks they are an AWESOME employer.
I suspect it's a matter of perceptions vs. reality. I would think an 18 or 19 year old enlisting in the Army has done a little homework, knows beforehand that he is likely to end up in Afghanistan and does so with a general understanding of what is going to be expected.
I would think that many younger Disney employees went there as a kid, had a great time, and applied for a job with little understanding that the role of a Disney employee is substantively different than that of a Disney guest.
You have to be f***ing Goofy to work at Disney.
