Obama Continues to Omit ‘Creator’ From Declaration of Independence (fourth time)

During a speech Monday, President Barack Obama once again omitted the Declaration of Independence‘s mention of man’s “Creator” as the source of his “unalienable rights.” While delivering remarks at a dinner fundraiser for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) in Rockville, Md., President Obama spoke about what he called the “essence” of the upcoming midterm election:

As wonderful as the land is here in the United States, as much as we have been blessed by the bounty of this magnificent continent that stretches from the Atlantic to the Pacific, what makes this place special is not something physical. It has to do with this idea that was started by 13 colonies that decided to throw off the yoke of an empire, and said, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that each of us are endowed with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

The sole mention of man‘s Creator in Obama’s remarks came at the end when he thanked the audience and said, “God bless you.”

This isn’t the first time the president has selectively edited the Declaration in not acknowledging the role of God in bestowing these rights upon man. During a Sept. 15 speech before the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute’s Annual Awards Gala, the president omitted the religious reference, but the White House dismissed criticism, saying that Obama “went off script and adlibbed when he made that mistake.” But just a week later, the President made the exact same “mistake” speaking during another fundraiser.

When asked why the president did not use the words “endowed by their Creator” in his Monday speech, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters Tuesday,

“I can assure you the president believes in the Declaration of Independence.”

I’d say don’t bother to quote it if you aren’t going to quote it correctly.

I think he’s thinking ...”that each of us are endowed BY GOVERNMENT with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

He is doing this on purpose trying to pick a fight. That is what community agitators do.

It worked with substituting “seperation of church and state” in changing the publics understanding of the first amendment. Now they are working on changing our understanding of the Declaration of Independence. Evil man.

When he took the oath, “quoting” the constitution, bowing to other countries leaders, on and on. He hates this country and he despises the constitution. The only way to stop this is in November and in 2012.

The good from all of this is he continues to dig himself deeper and to ostracize more Americans with every passing moment. Clinton had the brains to go toward the middle when needed. The kenyan doesn’t possess such a “talent”. He can’t help his Marxist self.

This is from another Thread about the Peter Lewis, soros and the few billionaires funding the progressive machine.

In February 2008, Lewis donated money to Barack Obama’s presidential campaign, and is considered one of the five people most responsible for Obama’s meteoric rise to power.

In addition, he belongs to and has donated tens of millions of dollars to the ACLU, which works tirelessly to tear down America’s Judeo-Christian heritage by:

* Removing nativity scenes from public property, and forcing Christmas trees to be named Holiday trees when displayed on public property.
* Banning Christmas trees and songs such as Silent Night from public schools.
* Renaming Christmas break Winter break.
* Suing cities for sponsoring Christmas parades.
* Forcing states to legalize homosexual marriage.
* Forcing libraries to remove porn filters from their computers.
* Suing the Boy Scouts for not accepting homosexuals as scout leaders.
* Helping legalize child pornography.
* Legalizing live sex acts in bars in Oregon
* Protecting the North American Man Boy Love Association (NAMBLA), a pedophile/pederasty organization that advocates adult sexual contact with children.
* Censoring student led prayer at graduation.
* Removing “under God” from the Pledge of Allegiance and “In God We Trust” on currency.

Beck and Rush have been pushing back oh this. It is interesting how the left is trying to make O’Donnell look like a fool. She represents the threat to their type of government.

Evil man.

Yes, and a consummate Marxist manipulator. If he hadn't gone into politics he'd have made a fortune running a Three-card Monte game.

from a related article

Is it any wonder that the newest Supreme Court justice, Elena Kagan, did not require the study of constitutional law when she was dean of Harvard Law School — but did require the study of foreign law? Those future federal judges graduating Harvard might catch onto the fable liberal activists have gone to such trouble weaving.

Stare Decises. This is the legal principle that judges are to respect the precedents created by prior decisions. It keeps our legal system from being chaotic and unpredictable. However, it is the case that is the precedent. A phrase from the reasoning or a footnote within that reasoning in the opinion is NOT stare decises. Modern judges treat the opinion's language rather than the ruling itself as the precedent. I think they are wrong. Thus in the Everson case where the “separation of church and state” phrase was in the 5-4 decision, the holding, the precedent was that local boards of education COULD use their moneys to transport students to privates schools, including religious ones.
