I am Ledgend (2007/Will Smith) and The Omega Man (1971/Charlton Heston) were both much better than The Last Man on Earth (1964/Vincent Price)

Scarface (1932, remade in 1983). But only because Al Pacino was so compelling.

Thomas Crown BUMP!
Hollywood usually does inject so much PC liberal cliche predictability that many remakes are, indeed, just regurgitations - VOMIT.
It is so easy to see that ANY blue-eyed white European male will turn out to be the most inhuman villian in history, while the mixed-race ghetto boy is a natural GENIUS and saves the world every time. HO HUM...

Very true, at that, I was surprised how good the new Will Smith version was.

Al Gore “An inconvenient truth” was far better remake of “Alice in Wonderland”

I have to desagree on The Thomas Crown Affair.
Pierce Brosnan ain’t no Steve McQueen! And CERTAINLY Rene Russo does not in any way equal Faye Dunaway in her prime.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 was definitely better than This Island Earth.

Three I can think of.
One being “Cape Fear”. DeNiro completely steals this move!
Another being “The Fly”. While the original was good for it’s time, it’s pretty campy. And the remake greatly benefits by new special effects.
And I think the remake of “The Thing” is good also. The focusing on the dogs, and some of the other stuff is alot scarier than the original. Wilford Brimley is especially creepy in this flick!
