Wow, can we put this in our pipe and smoke it, and place our bets at the bank, are we sure these people know their stuff?
Algore needs to hibernate in a hut in Siberia.
Now it’s “climate disruption”. And we’re still to blame.
I think I better cut more firewood...
Note to self: Don’t vacation in Russia this winter.
For most of the past 4-5 months, it has been seasonably mild and I've had the windows open on most nights. However, those days now appear to be over as much cooler weather is moving in.
Now I don't have all those fancy college degrees that the meteorologists seem to have, but I don't need to be a weatherman to know that something is definitely going on out there. I've been closing my windows at night and throwing on an extra blanket. I think the hazy, lazy days that we've had for the past few months are now at an end.
The NWS predicts higher temps. I say they are full of it. Mt. Leconte, Tennessee got 3” of snow today. It is colder. A fun link to the couple on the Mountain lives here.

Reminds me of the summer heat story about Russians drowning because they were swimming while drunk (on vodka?).
With the “warming” effect of ethyl alcohol, I wonder if (when) we’ll see stories about Russians freezing to death while drunk.
Meanwhile....here in the Seattle area, we are forecast to have a mild winter. I sure hope they’re right! Winter 2008 was rough. ‘09 was easy peasy.
When you look at the climate charts for the last million years, you come to one conclusion:
There is such a thing as global warming.
But it always lasts just a short period of time, geologically speaking, 20K years or so.
And it is ALWAYS followed by a huge, precipitous drop in temperatures, and an ice age that lasts about 80-90K years.
Yeah, the sunspot numbers are still low, so the winters will continue to be cold. Dang!
The sun is still sleeping. That means more clouds. That also might be part of why the jet stream is slowing, although any relationship there is poorly understood at best. (Seen some theories, but very speculative and obscure.)
Regardless, we are going to get pounded this winter. But that’s not the scary part.
The scary part is that a good chunk of the Nothern Hemisphere might not have a real summer next year if the sun doesn’t wake up.
Also, the forces involved completely drawf man and our works. So we’ll just have to deal with it...
How can they say with certainty it will be the coldest winter in the last 1000 years? Really? Doesn’t anyone in media ask for definitive proof for statements like this?
Like the 1600s cooling period and the 1800s cooling period, how can they know it will be colder than that?
We’re about 3 weeks ahead here, as far as cooling down goes,

Actually, the coldest winter in a while was about 350 years ago or 2500 years ago.
