What are your "Must Read" books

Posted on 10/01/2010 8:36:26 PM PDT by MNDude

Everyone's opinion, what would be three books that every adult should read?

How about three books every kid should read?

(besides the Bible, since that's a given for most)

I believe it was 6 or 7 years ago I received Flyboys as a Christmas present. It was a really good read if perhaps a bit graphic.

Atlas Shrugged by Rand
Lucifer’s Hammer by Niven & Pournelle
Stranger in a Strange Land by R.A. Heinlein

While Rand’s book is the most important; it must not be the FIRST of these to be offered to younger folk, or new neighbors.

My favorite books as a kid were Old Yeller, Where the Red Fern Grows. My kids have loved all the Hank the Cow Dog series.

I second Celine. I haven’t read Journey, just Death on Credit. That’s a great ranting cantankerous book.
