Everyone's opinion, what would be three books that every adult should read?
How about three books every kid should read?
(besides the Bible, since that's a given for most)
I believe it was 6 or 7 years ago I received Flyboys as a Christmas present. It was a really good read if perhaps a bit graphic.
The True Believer—Eric Hoffer
“Lolita, light of my life, fire of my loins.
Love that book up there with Joyce..
The Stand.
One Second After.
War Day.
On The Beach.
Seven Days In May.
The Manchurian Candidate,
One Second After
The Real George Washington
Undaunted Courage and Nothing Like it in the World are very good.
I would add: Pegasus Bridge
D-Day, June 6, 1944: The Climactic Battle of World War II
Citizen Soldiers: The U.S. Army from the Normandy Beaches to the Bulge to the Surrender of Germany, June 7, 1944 - May 7, 1945
I’ll go with Walden, Lord of the Rings triology, and Will and Ariel Durants history series.
Atlas Shrugged by Rand
Lucifer’s Hammer by Niven & Pournelle
Stranger in a Strange Land by R.A. Heinlein
While Rand’s book is the most important; it must not be the FIRST of these to be offered to younger folk, or new neighbors.
Mere Christianity-CS Lewis
The Road to Serfdom-Frederick Hayek

Unintended Consequences-Ross
The Virginian-Wister (the best ever)

just “kid’s” Titles:

For kids:
1) Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep? P.K. Dick (1968)
2) Journey To the End of the Night L.F.Celine (1932)
3)

The Roosevelt Myth by John T. Flynn

A Patriots History of America by Larry Schwiekart, Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell, Malevil by Robert Merle
The Gulag Archipelago, by Solzhenitsyn.
I second Celine. I haven’t read Journey, just Death on Credit. That’s a great ranting cantankerous book.
