7) Surprise of the night?
The only big loss will be the Illinois senate seat.
Wyden and Murray both hold on (barely, in Murray’s case).
We win WV, NH.
Big surprise: we win Connecticut.
Biggest surprise: we win the “Hillary Clinton” seat in NY
Pass over whatever you’re smokin’ and let me take a puff...
Seriously - VERY optimistic prediction there, but I hope you’re right.
I predict a 60 seat gain, plus 6 or 7 senate seats, all open gubernatorial races. Katie Couric will weep openly, James Carville will put a waste basket over his head, Esther will switch back to being ashamed of her country again. It will be morning in America, like the scene from Independence Day when the tide begins to turn and we learn to defeat E.T., knowing that the counter-offensive has just begun. That kind of feeling, yeah. We start prematurely referring to Sarah Palin as “Madam President” just sort of naturally. Congress enacts a resolution requiring Zippy to bow to the American people for a change, and is required to recite the ENTIRE Declaration of Independence. He begins carrying a 10lb Quran under his arm on his way to mosque, trying to court his only remaining demographic besides 20-something men living in their parents’ basements.
You missed the /sarc switch. But then again, everyone called the Miller, Angle and O’Donnell races six weeks out, right? NOT! A lot of wishfull thinking but not prognostication. The mood on the ground is far worse than any of us knows and that is the wild card.
I have a feeling about this one much in the same way I had a feeling we were gonna see stuff that would make our heads spin at the onset of the air campaign of the first Gulf War.
Hold your powder folks, the last week is going to be amazing. No matter the outcome, we win and we need to take that focus and elevate it another notch and start on the 2012 list immediately. Excellent candidates will rise early because this wave is gonna be a big one.
I predict that Nov 2nd, 2010 will be the worst electoral disaster in the history of this nation for the Democratic party. A night of epic defeat and numerous suprises.
Nevada - Angle
Delaware - Coons
California - Boxer
California Gov - Meg
NY Governon - Cuomo
House - GOP 45 net gain
Surprise of the night.....Chris Matthews still feels the tingle and Olberman meltdown.......Lamestream Media declares it is all good for Obama.......
You forgot Wisconsin and Colorado.
Buck(Bennet) should take Co. and Johnson(Feingold) Wi.
Now there will be two Conservative victories on election night!
More:
Kasich whomps Strickland in OH Gubernatorial race by double-digits, Portman wins the Senate seat handily too.
Toomey wins in PA, Fox News calls it with <20% of votes in.
WI Senate - Feingold goes down! Johnson wins by a nose.
Boxer doesn’t concede to Fiorina until sometime in the wee hours of Wednesday morning Pacific Time despite the race being called by midnight.
Lisa Murkowski gets less than 3% of the vote in her write-in campaign, Miller still wins.

Honestly, that is what the numbers are telling me. I remember in 94 I was one of the only Republicans that I know that was actually disappointed the results weren’t even better. We lost a number of tight races that we probably should have won.
This is 94 on steroids. The only one of those predictions I am actually hesitant on is the NY governor’s race. I think Cuomo will lose, but I worry that Paladino will say something really ... unfortunate ... between now and November.
I just wish we had real candidates in Illinois, Washington, and Oregon.
John Boozman will defeat Senator Blanche Lincoln...big time!
I agree on your last round, except Wisconsin. This doesn’t look close to me. Johnson by >5%, and called fairly early.
Other than that, looks good.
I would run the streets naked if Paladino or O’Donnell won their races, but I don’t see it happening.
I DO think Fiorina and Angle will pull off their Senate races though.
As an Ohio native, I’m hoping the Gov. race there ends up a Bob McDonnell-style rout on the part of John Kasich.
“I would run the streets naked if Paladino or ODonnell won their races, but I dont see it happening.”
Now the entire world is rooting for Coons and Cuomo.
I wouldn’t count COD out, she is gonna have some of the best help the renegades and mama grizzlies can give. You betcha.
Excellent.
You got my point to the rest of the prognosticators.
If COD does in fact pull it out, I say the GOP gets the Senate too.
