Our friends and families have no jobs
opinion | 9-9-2010 | brianbaldwin

Posted on 09/09/2010 11:35:23 PM PDT by Brian_Baldwin

It seems every day now, I am listening to the voices of so many I know who still hold tight to their dignity while not having the dignity of a job. It doesn’t matter the lies the Democrats and the Obama Administration can tell me, the day in and day out devastation of those I know, both mental and physical, from which their voices I can hear clearly the reality of this economic damage, and the fears and the actual suffering of good families and decent people is becoming unnervingly difficult to bare, and I know without a doubt that the real measure of the economic situation is much worse than the lies they tell us both from Obama’s friends in the media, the toadies of the current failed regime, and from the very politicians who are mostly to blame for this.

Though a conscious conservative, I held back from saying what I am about to say, but no longer. And it is not my politics, nor my conservative biases which would account for the truth in what I must say. It is from the voices of those who are baring such a greater burden of fear and shambles of which I am yet know but feel is very close now. It is from those voices, that I can say without reservation that Obama and these Democrats who are now supposedly managing the affairs of America, that they are without question the greatest disaster I have ever witnessed in my lifetime which is now past my best years.

Today, I have concluded what is becoming obvious to everyone – that Obama sickens me, and pretty much all of the Democrats need to be taken from power without question. It doesn’t matter how much I respect the office of the President, nor anything of the sort – and I am really not sure if things will turn around much soon after, because I am afraid that some of the damage is now long term.

I believe my estimates are correct, that at this juncture I would measure that over 50% have been out of work for more than six months and for many longer, more than a quarter now more than a year. Again, I know many around me in this situation, it is more than one can endure as they and their friends gather around them and try everything to hold up their strength – “you can be strong”, “hang in there”, “just a little longer”, “we are there for you”, “you are good people”, “you are valued”, “God is going to help”.

Let me say this – it is everywhere and education is no shelter. My honest assessment is that probably 30% of the good people who are unemployed have bachelors or higher degrees – their story is not pretty. But for those who are 50 years old or older, the reality of what is happening to them is brutal.

I save no blessings for the Corporations, either. It is becoming clear, they have those who are among their leaders who want to live in this nation, for all it’s blessings, to be protected by our police officers who are paid through the taxation of Americans, who want to go to our libraries and their children to our universities which are the blessings and gift of the American people and their values and their wealth however meager it may seem, which is just another way of saying the years and months and days of work in their lives as Americans, of which life is a beautiful thing and makes one always realize that life is too short, and who live with these same "leaders" of the Corporate world who want to live under the blessings of these American people but yet apart from them, Americans who because of their values and the blood giving in wars of their loved ones, we all have something called a Democracy --- these same “leaders” who want to live here among all these blessings which have come about because of the American people, and then they want locate their business and hire "workers" from some other land to simply use cheap labor, and who call themselves “global”, and really all they are is the modern version of the British East India Company.

There is nothing really respectible about such "leaders" of "indusry" if you really think about it. And I think perhaps it is time that they have their American business licenses taken from them, and that they take their families and move to that other country, and request a business license from that other nation, and live under the laws of that other place, and send their children to those other schools of that far away place, and be protected by the military and live under the government of that other nation. It is time perhaps for them to leave. Nothing should be taken from them. Let them take their cars, and their clothes, and everything with them including everything of value with them. Nothing is to be taken from them. But perhaps they should now be asked to leave and to live their global lives.

It is like a war in some ways. Either these Corporations now stand up as Americans, and stand with Americans, or they are not to be considered American at all. They can decide at this time, but I can predict that in this matter, in this time, the consequences of their decision will have very long term import for themselves and history will soon write the story of it.

We are told that many of these lost jobs are never to return to America again. Of course, that is incorrect. That is only true if we do not politely ask those others who do not want to be Americans anymore to leave.

As for the politicians now in charge, we do not need to be polite at all. We still have the ballot box, for now. They must all go. All of them.

It is not a matter of the size of the problem. It is a matter of the size of steadfastness and our fearlessness. I can say, I see a lot of fear, and we all understand. But you all have a right to be angry, and there is nothing wrong with a zeal for justice and fearlessness in your efforts to hold with your families and your neighbors and your country, and a willingness to say the truth. When a stranger comes into your house, to take from you, you have every right to be angry. But you do not let your anger trip up your resolve to take the appropriate action, nor let anger have you trip over your own feet as you confront the intruder. So now these intruders must go. They certainly must not rule over our lives anymore, because they have failed us. November seems too far away. But that will only be the first month. Of many more to come.

I live in an area in FL that has been hard hit because of all the construction jobs that have gone.

I have so many friends who have lost their homes. It’s sickening.

BTW, I was a career counselor for veterans and ran a district-wide program from 1988 to 2000, so if any FReepers have any job-related questions, feel free to FReepmail me and I’ll try to help.

Sadly, no mention of union and public labor.

Simply because “corporations” are not rising to your expectations of heroism does not mean they are responsible for the Socialistic agenda that’s wreaking havoc on our nation. If you’re looking to hold someone else accountable for the wicked actions of the bastards that are legislating the highway to hell, find out who voted for them. Good chance, you know a few.

Yes, I’m an evil capitalist that takes exception to your focus on the corporation. Corporations large and small are the most adaptive engines of our economy. They respond to the whims, desires, and needs of the marketplace. They are merely reflective figures of investment and patronage.

I had worked, everyday since coming out of the service in 1970.

Next Monday will mark my second year of unemployment and job hunting.
The hardest part in all of this is .. I am 58 years old and I have to depend on my 70 year old wife’s part time job, for us to struggle through.

Yes,’dignity’ is Very Hard to hold on to!

Thank You for your post.

Either these Corporations now stand up as Americans, and stand with Americans, or they are not to be considered American at all.

How dare corporations try to escape from crushing taxation! How dare they attempt to diversify away from the creeping fascistic control of the Left by (gasp) building assets in other countries!

Spare us this 'rage against the machine' dialectic. The US is suffering because Big Government has made it a terrible place to produce wealth.

If you attempt to force corporations to waste their private property in the toxic environment that America has become, you have become a KleptoMarxist.

Various sites are up with free tutorials and readings about technical subjects. Example: http://www.learnthat.com/

They may not be complete, but a person might be able to start searching and find something to check out at a library.

Also, IIRC, MIT has published a whole raft of its course materials at MIT Opencourseware: http://ocw.mit.edu/index.htm

No registration. And, it’s all FREE.

Here is the bookshelf of Project Gutenberg: http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Category:Bookshelf

Free Tech tutorials: http://www.techtutorials.net/

Free skills: http://tutorials.freeskills.com/

You get the picture. If you need a job, you might also look to see if there are some free online courses or tutorials you can take AND SUCCEED IN COMPLETING just to prove to yourself that you have the ability and to give you the confidence to keep going.

You can do it. You have to believe you can, but you can pull yourself up by the boot straps.

There was a time I lived in my car. With a supportive family and my own determination, I clawed my way back. Sometimes, I thought the pain of several events were enough to feel numbed down to the tips of my toes. I about went down for the count. And other things happened, too, but I digress. So, for you who is reading this, I repeat the haunting words of my mother, who often said to me, “This, too, shall pass.”

Events change you. But you are here and reading this now because God has a purpose for you. Remember that when Meshak, Shadrack and Abednego walked out of the firey furnace unscathed, the people who opened the doors were knocked dead....but no one could figure out who the fourth man was that was with them there, walking out behind them. No one knew then, even though we know His name.

I humbly call down the showers of blessings, protection, miracles and financial provision of the Almighty God, on the heads and families of those Believing, God-fearing Christians reading this post. I ask for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit to fill the downtrodden with the Breath of Christ and to repentance and renewal of their spirits with His Purpose and Divine Will for their lives. In Jesus’ Name, I claim this Grace for such people, Amen.

I agree and what I’m afraid is going to happen next is that Fedzilla is going to try to strong arm and intimidate companies into repatriating.

I’d imagine more than a few are crunching the numbers and trying to figure out if totally divesting themselves of the US is the most viable option for them.

I know people who have lost their jobs and voted for obama. I feel no pity on them whatsoever. Many of these people called me a fool and attacked me personally during the election.

Many will not speak to me at all now that I told them they got what they deserved. I don’t care anymore. Tired of friggin’ idiots voting in these parasites who then destroy the US. How you like your hope and change now boys?

Not to mention the several TRILLION dollars of our tax monies being gifted to them. Adaptive corporate whores perhaps. They jumped on the government welfare train quicker then some crackhead baby's momma from the south-side. Exploitive greedy "bottom line" feeders, the majority of em. A reflection of Capitalism...a shadow with no loyality to the home that built their sucess. To hell with them.

This crap doesn't cut it. Corp's are in bed with government, similar to the fascist arrangements of Europe circa 1930. Corp's just pass tax increases on to the consumer. Corps have sped up the destruction of Freedom in this country by convincing the Feds to nationalize all laws. That is good for FedGov™ and good for the global corps, but real bad for u and me.

The mantra "it's too hared to follow 50 state laws", well tough shit that is the way it works. Corps are now run by Poison Ivy League liberals who actually believe affirmative action and global warming is fair and real.
