Let’s see if the shooter faces the same charges a citizen would face for doing that.

A Detroit Police officer then fired off twelve rounds. One animal cruelty officer was struck in the back of the leg. Another bullet grazed his buttocks.

Apparently, perps in Detroit have nothing to fear — so long as a Detroit cop is pointing his gun at him. OTOH, it doesn't seem to be a good idea to be a bystander.

"They need to go back to the range and learn how to shoot accurately," said witness Terrence King. "She was scared of the dog and panicked and shot somebody. She (was) just shooting recklessly." Ugh. Accuracy gained while shooting at a stationary target in a controlled environment won't help one iota when YOU FREAK OUT UNDER PRESSURE!

I’m really starting to believe that cops simply do not need guns. They are seemingly more reckless, arrogant and a danger to the public at large than ever before.
With cops getting their jollies off on killing dogs, shooting unarmed citizens, and having negligent discharges at the frequency that they do... are we sure that we want these people armed in public? It’s obvious that their training is lacking at a minimum as is their judgement.
Sorry to smack law enforcement around but it just seems that it’s going from bad to worse all the time. I know it’s a small percentage of cops that are a problem but when the system refuses to discipline these officers for their lack of judgement it doesn’t help.

For the love of Mike, this gal ripped of a full mag (Glock?) of barely non-fatal discharges.
In the old days, the station chief would have had her badge and gun on his desk that very night. Now, with the union and all, she will get leave for the stress, counseling, retraining and will then retire due to emotional disability at full pay!

The last place you want to be is around a police officer firing his/her weapon. Not only do they have higher rates of accidental shootings than concealed carry holders, you can’t go after them because they’re on duty and have immunity (unless they are committing a crime).

You see, these type of stories of aggressive cops are happening to frequently to just be a fluke. Obviously, the time has come to ban cops. Yeah, I know we only hear the negative stories about cops but that is not the point. I only hear bad stories about cops and I don’t have to be reasonable or logical. If a few are bad, then they ALL must be!! Ban cops!!/s

Another female cop wigs out. I've asked this several times here, but never get a response:
Are there any studies about the frequency of female cops freaking out compared to males?
It sure seems like an inordinate amount of these cases are women. But I have nothing to back that up with.
