Oh why did Chapman have to use all of his bullets on John?

“Don’t hold your breath waiting for Beatles songs to go on sale at iTunes or other online retailers, Yoko Ono said on Thursday.”

Hey ... I got your apple right here ...

Dear Yoko: while you and the others attempt to squeeze one more $20 bill out of the public for 40-year-old works they already have purchased multiple times in multiple formats the whole of the Beatles catalog is available for FREE in glorious loss-free FLAC or 320k MP3 from many Internet outlets.

Leverage is called leverage for a reason and you don’t have as much as you think you do.

In other words....

We got our fans to buy 45s.

Then we got them to buy LPs.

Then we got eight tracks.

Next we got them to buy the exact same music on CDs.

And we are not done milking them yet.

"The Fab Four have long resisted the allure of digital downloads, instead selling millions of old-fashioned compact discs last year after remastering the catalog. "

More than 40 years after their LAST RELEASE, the Beatles are selling millions of records a year.

Amazing, simply amazing.

Personally, I'm not surprised.

LOL.

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

During the Napster gold rush, I was downloading Beatles songs; each and every one I had on the shelf in one form or another. Sure I could have ripped them, but downloading is so much fun.

Now I buy music legally via iTunes. I would love to live to see another creative era in music; so I’m not going to short circuit the process.

Just borrow the CD from the local library, convert it into MP3s with Windows Media Player and voila! Not as handy as downloading but you get free wav files in the bargain (if you want them).

There's just an element that we're not very happy about, as people

Apple refuses to inflate the ratings of Ono's offerings on iTunes so it looks like SOMEONE is buying her stuff?

The Beetles stink and are boring ....who cares. They have 2-3 listenable tunes. I can listen to “House of the Rising Sun” and “LA Woman” anytime it’s on the radio. The Beetles are painful to listen to. U2 are the Beetles of today

Yoko’s advice fine for the rest of us, but I hope she does not take it. Because, the longer she holds her breath, the longer we won’t have to listen to her spine-chilling, infernal yowling.

I'm completely disgusted that any of the Beatles tunes are still under copyright. Perpetual copyright is evil.
