To: a fool in paradise
Just borrow the CD from the local library,convert it into MP3s with Windows Media Player and voila! Not as handy as downloading but you get free wav files in the bargain (if you want them).

There were efforts in the 1980s to prohibit libraries from lending out CDs because the industry said “you can make perfect home copies from them”.
