A South Florida teacher is behind bars for a bizarre traffic arrest.
Joann Tomas -a Dr. William Chapman Elementary Spanish teacher -was reportedly driving along South Homestead Boulevard when she was pulled over for swirving lanes.
After she was handcuffed, she ripped them off and threw them at an officer and kicked him in the groin before she was tasered twice.
Tomas claims she was taking Xanax because she was studying to be an assistant principal.
She's been charged with battery on a police officer and resisting arrest with violence. She's being held on 5-thousand-dollars bond for each charge.
She needs to UP THE DOSE!
Wow. She ripped the handcuffs off. I think she’s ready to be a full principal.
Mugshot.
No joke!

Must be a Floriduh thing.
How the hell does one rip off handcuffs?
Wow, that’s amazing what a taser does to one’s hair.
The use of the word ‘feisty’ in this article would seem to suggest that the hack who wrote it approves of women attacking and assaulting evil, wicked policemen who try to enforce the law when they are suspected of a dangerous criminal offence.
I wonder if he would be similarly prepared to describe a police officer’s response as ‘feisty’ if he was ever to attempt to emulate this woman’s actions towards one?
No allegations of being hot for the students. But photo included anyway. Don't be harsh on her, she was studying to be an assistant principal
GUILTY!
Xanax doesn't increase attention span or improve memory. It's a sedative, really freeze-dried Jack Daniels. It makes you stupider, not smarter.
That isn't English.
Well then, by all means, let the poor woman go. Who can't understand her behaviour in light of these new details? It's for the chillen'.
You’d be surprised.
How the hell does one rip off handcuffs?

First you swallow a handfull of Xanax.
Then start “swirving”.
The rest is easy.
Sounds good to me. She’s a one woman force to be reckoned with. I know I’m afraid of her.
Precisely the reason one needs it to become an assistant principal.
Because fighting the police is usually a pretty good idea.
Wow she must have been suffering from all these side effects - aggression, disinhibition, hallucinations, disorientation, hostility, hyperactivity and restlessness.
She looks a meth-head. Maybe the Xanax helped take the edge off the meth or put her in “don’t care” mode for when she ran low.
