PROVO — The former BYU student accused of attacking a woman with a stun gun pleaded guilty Tuesday to a lessened degree of aggravated assault.

Stetson Geo Hallam, 20, had been charged with aggravated kidnapping, a first-degree felony, following an April 6 incident that he claimed was an April Fool's joke, according to a police affidavit filed in 4th District Court.

Charges say Hallam, the victim's home teacher in their LDS Church ward, pressured the 19-year-old woman to meet him so he could "give her a gift."

The woman told police Hallam waited outside her Provo apartment for her to return, then asked her to go to a basement laundry room as part of a scavenger hunt.

Once in the room, Hallam attacked her with a Taser-like weapon, pinned her to the ground and tried to handcuff her, the affidavit states. Despite the electric shock, the woman began screaming and fighting back, and at one point bit Hallam's finger, according to court documents. She later told police she thought Hallam was trying to rape her.

After being bitten, Hallam released the woman, apologized, and said it was just an April Fool's joke, the affidavit states. Police found burn marks on the woman's arm from the weapon and a bite mark on Hallam's hand.

Hallam pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and obstruction of justice, second-degree felonies. He is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 9 and faces up to 15 years in prison.

That is the lamest excuse for an attempt to prove your point you could have possibly made.

Here are the facts of the situation:

1) You said they were denigrating your religion
2) I said your examples didnt have any evidence that they denigrated your religion
3) You said that I didnt prove my point
4) I explained that your evidence doesnt prove your charge
5) You said, well now that I posted my religion, the Mormons will start to denigrate (running away from your claim they already did)
6) I said no one is going to denigrate your religion
7) You said that because they believe what they believe, that is denigrating your religion

From this, I can judge that you are a coward and incompetent.

You are a coward because you run away from your own statement when you realize you cant defend it anymore. You are also a coward because you project your own actions on to others to engender sympathy for yourself.

You are incompetent because you lack basic reasoning and logic skills. You make a claim that someone is attacking you and through dialogue, you admit that they havent, you just think they might.

1) MORMONs whine: they say we're denigrating their religion (MORMONism is a CULT!)
2) They say, "Your Scripture doesn't have any evidence that we are a CULT."
3) We say, "It's plain as DAY!"
4) We explaine that your handwaving won't stand up in court.
5) You said, well now that I posted my religion, the Mormons will start CONTINUE to denigrate (pointing out the FACT that MORMON 'scripture' does this DAILY) ALL of Christianity.
6) I said no one is going to denigrate your religion (Yup - you sure did!)
7) You said that because they believe what they believe, that is denigrating your religion (And the FACTS prove it)

From this, LURKERS can judge that MORMONs appear CONFUSED about the things their CHOSEN religion has published and will try ANYTHING to slither away from FACTs.

I would argue with you if you targeted Jews, Christians, Buddhists, or any other religion by trying to tie 1 person’s sins to an entire religion.

Well, argue away, then, with the apostle Paul and ALL those worldwide who believe the entire New Testament. Paul taught that the original humanism was spawned by a certain couple who rebelled in the Garden of Eden, and hence jumpstarted the generational inheritance of sin (original sin-->inherited sin @ birth-->actual sin behavior).

Therefore 1 person's sins (actually a couple) are indeed tied to the entire man-made religion of original humanism, which I define as opposition to God and His standards.

Here's what Paul said in tying Adam's sin to an entire group of people: Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned— (Rom. 5:12)

For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. (1 Cor. 15:22)

[But go ahead & pretend, Sam, that Adam's sin wasn't representative of us as human beings; and that Jesus' perfection and substitutionary blood shed on our behalf wasn't representative in God's eyes to also acquit those who so trust in that "payment plan"]

MORMONS still can't refute SCRIPTURE posted or prove any of the assumptions Joseph Smith made.

So every Christian’s sin is representative of the religion and should be used as a reason to not believe? Or do you just apply that logic to religions you dont like?

So every Christian’s sin is representative of the religion and should be used as a reason to not believe?

You misunderstand the Christian faith: Jesus said:

Jesus answered them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick." (Luke 5:31)

To qualify as a member of the Christian faith, do you need to confess your sin illness...your spiritual "rap sheet" if you will. Remember that Christ's "final disciple" before dying was the thief on the cross. (So, in this sense, yes, our sin is representative of our faith -- but NO, it should NOT be used as a reason to not believe).

For every "Christian" -- or for every "religious person" -- who is trusting in themselves to transcend this world into heaven, they fail badly @ understanding their own brokenness.

1 Cor. 1:30 says that Christ is our righteousness; (not our lack of a rap sheet...because what sin offenses of ours have escaped the notice of God as Judge?)

You misunderstand what I said. I think it is dumb to try using every Christian’s sin to take down Christianity. I also think its dumb to do the same with Mormons.

You just wasted a lot of time and keystrokes and still missed the point.

Big difference here. The very foundation of Christianity is Jesus Christ. The foundation of lds is Joseph Smith.

No one was talking about the foundation of a religion, DUmmie. We were talking about whether or not some people can apply the same scrutiny to one religion and not another.

Btw, Else has still not refuted any of the points made earlier.

Oh yea this is what you said: You misunderstand what I said. I think it is dumb to try using every Christian’s sin to take down Christianity. I also think its dumb to do the same with Mormons.

The foundation of Christianity is Jesus Christ - sinless.

The foundation of lds Joseph Smith - ?
