PROVO The former BYU student accused of attacking a woman with a stun gun pleaded guilty Tuesday to a lessened degree of aggravated assault.
Stetson Geo Hallam, 20, had been charged with aggravated kidnapping, a first-degree felony, following an April 6 incident that he claimed was an April Fool's joke, according to a police affidavit filed in 4th District Court.
Charges say Hallam, the victim's home teacher in their LDS Church ward, pressured the 19-year-old woman to meet him so he could "give her a gift."
The woman told police Hallam waited outside her Provo apartment for her to return, then asked her to go to a basement laundry room as part of a scavenger hunt.
Once in the room, Hallam attacked her with a Taser-like weapon, pinned her to the ground and tried to handcuff her, the affidavit states. Despite the electric shock, the woman began screaming and fighting back, and at one point bit Hallam's finger, according to court documents. She later told police she thought Hallam was trying to rape her.
After being bitten, Hallam released the woman, apologized, and said it was just an April Fool's joke, the affidavit states. Police found burn marks on the woman's arm from the weapon and a bite mark on Hallam's hand.
Hallam pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and obstruction of justice, second-degree felonies. He is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 9 and faces up to 15 years in prison.

As I’ve said before; I attend a WESLEYAN church.
THIS is the ANSWER?
When the light had departed, I had no strength; but soon recovering in some degree, I went home.
And as I leaned up to the fireplace, mother inquired what the matter was.
I replied, Never mind, all is wellI am well enough off.
I then said to my mother, I have learned for myself that Presbyterianism is not true.
(Joseph SmithHistory 1:20)
(Maggie; we need a CONTEXT lesson here...)
Come on now, are you just trying to keep me involved in this silly thread? ;-)
I'll make this really easy for you both. I bolded the parts that show up in biblical prophecy, both old and new testaments.
19 I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.
20 He again forbade me to join with any of them; and many other things did he say unto me, which I cannot write at this time. When I came to myself again, I found myself lying on my back, looking up into heaven.
Elsie, Presbyterianism is singled out because his mother and sisters leaned toward that sect, but it was all current sects that Joseph was warned against. Don't feel isolated in being picked on.
My hats of to you both really, you pulled me right in. Well done!
Now I'm done, really I am. I'm off to watch the next installment of the John Adams miniseries that just arrived via netflix. Enjoy this thread, I know I'll enjoy being occupied elsewhere.
R this is not to you because you have said you are done but it is your post.
So E, I am still not getting it - you?
Oh, well.
I did prove it. None of the quotes you used show anyone complaining about your religion.
So THIS is supposed to be the ANSWER?
A plagarized verse from the BIBLE with NO EVIDENCE to back up what it says?
But; that is just like EVERYTHING in MORMONism:
all CLAIM,
No SHOW.
Claiming ALL of CHRISTIANITY is ABOMINABLE would require just a WEE bit of EVIDENCE, most rational people would think!
Now that I've posted it; you MORMONs can start...

News-flash, bud: No one cares about denigrating your religion. You will get no satisfaction from this. And it still shows that you are a liar and a whiner.

Ah, there's the stick we so love to see you folks swing.
Of course we're not going to agree that God told Joseph Smith the same thing he told Isaiah. We believe it's the same God, we believe all of Isaiah 29 speaks to the restoration in the last days. We believe it's God's words, not Joseph's or Isaiah.
If you think he plagiarized Isaiah, you should look up all the prophecies that Joseph mentioned in his visitations with Moroni, prior to him getting the Nephite record. Moroni mentions many specific scriptures that are about to be fulfilled, from both the Old and New Testaments. Joseph even giveschapter and verse on some of them I'm sure you can have fun with your stick on those ones. I'll even help you with the target if you like.

And I believe you have your answer as to what Joseph said to his mother. I don't expect you to agree, just stop asking over and over and over. The answer won't change.
At the very least, I hope you won't expect me to respond to the question again.
That is all.
Seriously?
Absolutely!
Did you ‘seriously’ think I would answer differently? Have a great Sunday.
lds teaches that you to can be a god.
lds strive for this, they have bought satan's great lie.
God's Word is and always will be.
There is only ONE God,
Sorry; but it IS MORMON 'scripture' the calls ALL of CHRISTIANITY ABOMINABLE - and THEY ain't ABOUT to change it!
(Last time I checked; a subset is part of the ALL set.)
YOU might 'believe' it all right; but NO mormon scripture SHOWS it.
At the very least, I hope you won't expect me to respond to the question again.
If you can't respond; it's not MY fault.
BTW, from your about page, I notice you're in Santa Barbara. I spent about 8 months there on my mission covering the wards there, as well as student wards in Goleta (UCSB) and one in Carpinteria.
Beautiful area, I agree. Wonderful people as well. It's been over 20 years, but I still remember it fondly. Enjoy...
At least you’re consistent.
It is still beautiful.
And I did not change the subject.
