PROVO — The former BYU student accused of attacking a woman with a stun gun pleaded guilty Tuesday to a lessened degree of aggravated assault.

Stetson Geo Hallam, 20, had been charged with aggravated kidnapping, a first-degree felony, following an April 6 incident that he claimed was an April Fool's joke, according to a police affidavit filed in 4th District Court.

Charges say Hallam, the victim's home teacher in their LDS Church ward, pressured the 19-year-old woman to meet him so he could "give her a gift."

The woman told police Hallam waited outside her Provo apartment for her to return, then asked her to go to a basement laundry room as part of a scavenger hunt.

Once in the room, Hallam attacked her with a Taser-like weapon, pinned her to the ground and tried to handcuff her, the affidavit states. Despite the electric shock, the woman began screaming and fighting back, and at one point bit Hallam's finger, according to court documents. She later told police she thought Hallam was trying to rape her.

After being bitten, Hallam released the woman, apologized, and said it was just an April Fool's joke, the affidavit states. Police found burn marks on the woman's arm from the weapon and a bite mark on Hallam's hand.

Hallam pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and obstruction of justice, second-degree felonies. He is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 9 and faces up to 15 years in prison.

Never said I wanted to know. Just a commentary that you are more concerned with what Mormons believe than you are with what you believe. I could really care less what Smith thinks.

And, very nice debating skills. You make a claim, which is easily refuted, then you try to skip over it and make another charge. Very MSNBC of you.

Im beginning to think your whole cabal is just 1 angry old lady with a bunch of screen names with the way you always show up together, have the same backstory, and the same cut and paste methods. But you will probably cut that line out somewhere later and use it out of context, which is why Im putting in this one.

Sure you do. Otherwise you wouldn't be so agitated over the exposure of his lies (IE blasphemy).

How can someone be a mormon and yet not care/believe/sustain/praise what Joey Smith had to say or think ???

I thought it was equivilent to a “Mohammad is the prophet of Allah” moment to believe in Joey Smith the Restorer ???

Nope, I would argue with you if you targeted Jews, Christians, Buddhists, or any other religion by trying to tie 1 person’s sins to an entire religion.

Who said I was a Mormon? Just because I debate your tactics and call you a jackass, you assume that I must be a Mormon. But I guess its easier for you to be ignorant than put any thought into a debate.

Joey Smith was known as “America’s Mohammad” from things he said and how he acted...

He boasted he would be the 2nd Mohammad and he claimed that all non-mormons should bed killed “Blood atonement”

He also claimed he was intitled to many “virgions” and set about gathertinbg himself a harem...

When rapists like the one in this article are caught, they seem to feel that somehow they were entitled to the victim and they are affronted that anyone would object...

For women to be treated as having no personal rights and as sex objects for a males pleasure and use is unBiblical and unAmerican and unConstitutional..

If this is being taught to mormon boys from the cradle, then the mormon organization is at fault and should share much of the blame and responsibility for this horrible crime...

Handcuffs ??? a stun gun ?? the misuse of “authority” ???

Where is the outrage and denouncement of such aberrant behavior from the mormon heiarchy ???

He was teaching their mormon material and with their authority and yet they dont appear to be concerned about his criminal activity while acting in their name...

I wonder how often this type of deviency is carried out but not reported, or reported to uncaring mormon bishops who caver up the crimes and instruct the female victims to “forget it” or that she is somehow at fault..

Although this article was in the mormon Deseret News, it is just a hometown newspaper like the Village Voice, and not widely read...

Nope. It is not just using JS words personally, it is exposing all the words and teachings of lds. JS was just the catalyst for the foundation of lds. If you read the postings you will see that they are current and past words/teachings. There are comparisons to Biblical Truth and to lds teachings/words.

Ya know Joey Smith did just this...

When the Smith family were ex-communicated from the Presbyterian Church in Palmyra, NY in March, 1830 for Joey Smith’s wild fantasies and preaching against Christianity, Joey Smith denounced all of Christianity as “wrong” and started his own religion, continually speaking against Christians and Christianity and inventing his own “christ”

To: Raider Sam; Elsie

I surmise that Elsie is Presbyterian. That’s the nagging question he/she is always asking, about why Joseph said what he did about that sect. Part of Joseph Smith’s family was of that denomination, and he singled it out in the history, so Elsie always asks about it.

“When the light had departed, I had no strength; but soon recovering in some degree, I went home. And as I leaned up to the fireplace, mother inquired what the matter was. I replied, “Never mind, all is well—I am well enough off.” I then said to my mother, “I have learned for myself that Presbyterianism is not true.” (Joseph Smith—History 1:20)

Read for context. I wondered if said poster was a Christian, since all said poster posts to seems to be anti-Mormon threads, never any "pro-Christian" threads. Someone disagreed with many, saying it was obvious that said poster was Christian. I then retorted: Hating Mormons does not a Christian make...magritte

Hating heresy and exposing it makes... WHAT? One man's heresy is another man's dogma...
