We live in Sonoma Country north of SF in CA. The weather has been so cool this summer that all the fruits and vegetables are weeks late ripening.

ROTFLMAO

Haven't you heard?

It's all going to Muslim countries to boost their self-esteem in farming.

The local Menonite farmers here in Berks County, PA have a stand full every day. Awesome stuff!

Sweet Corn is NOT the type used in ethanol production.

Hmmm. Maybe that's why my car sputtered to a halt. ;-)

I’ve had it twice already.

What area are you in?

Midlantic region is doing fine.

But, yeah, as another poster implied, as long as the US government Statists are willing to tax our earnings to give to farmers to turn their corn into fuel (because those same taxers refuse to drill for our own oil and push for clean coal, etc.), expect corn to be in short supply.

I am so sorry. I am like you, come summer I am always ready for sweet corn on the cob and I eat it nearly every day. I have a new recipe for cream corn that is to die for. It involves six ears of corn and two cups of heavy cream. Very rich. One of the best things I’ve ever eaten. No farmers’ markets where you live, nowhere to drive out into the country and buy it from a farm stand?

All of you guys on the coast should come inland, we have been baking in the heat since the start of July. I guess I need to take a trip to the coast since you all are complaining about how cool it is! Greetings from the well cooked foothills east of Sac.

Corn doesnt grow well here.

The soil is to hard and the corn roots are to shallow.

A good wind will blow it all over. There is always a good wind here, sucking or blowing.

Don’t mean to rub it in, but I got some to die for at a Farmers’ Market yesterday. I asked the guy when he cut it and he said “about an hour ago.” Butter and salt, wrapped it in wax paper and 3 minutes in the ‘wave. Heaven.

Butter and salt????

Blasphemy! In the husk on the grill is the only "true" way....LOL!

Crops are booming in Canada.
Global warming is turning the U.S into a dust bowl.
All the temperate climate has moved north. Warmer days, better soil and more crops. Not only is canada full of food it is the future breadbasket and water cooler of North America. In the future the arctic will be fertile. Better start installing those nuclear safeguards.
