DeFarra "Dean" Gaymon was shot and killed Friday in Branch Brook Park by an Essex County sheriff's detective investigating reports of public sex. Prosecutors said Gaymon approached an undercover detective while masturbating and propositioned the officer.

I also have to note the irony that Gaymon, who was a gay man, seems to have displayed his weapon while remaining unarmed. Keep your hands where I can see 'em!

Masturbating, propositioned the cop, ran away, threatened to kill the cop, and reached into his pocket. Damn! I’m surprised the cop didn’t claim the guy made a deathbed confession before he expired.

I don't think I've ever been caught masturbating. Had I known the penalty could be so high, I would have been more careful.
And they think the Arizona cops need better training.
How sadly ironic (or not ironic, I’m never sure) that his name is “gaymon”. And he looks really, really gay in the photo. Don’t know who was wrong or who was right here, but what a horror for his wife & kids.
I think this is why the guy apparently freaked out so bad...he was a closeted gay with a wife, kids and good job back in Atlanta. Went away for a school reunion in NJ and got a little frisky. Seems like maybe the cop could have handled it without killing the guy....but I wasn’t there and don’t know all the facts.
Understatement, running a dumb-ass down and killing him for shaking his winkie at him. I don't think training is a cure for that one.
Nonetheless, prayers up for the poor sod's family.
