Hi folks. There are lots of blogs out there and websites talking of 46 warships, planes and 7000 troops evacuating the Gulf of Mexico and landing in Costa Rica. Something to do with 'the war on drugs'.
Does anyone have the truth on this? Seems excessive for Costa Rica. Is there something big in the Gulf about to happen? I live on the west coast of Florida and I'm scared out of my mind. There are talks of shifts in the plates between Haiti and the US. Supposedly NoAA has blocked view of Tsunami site (don't know, I haven't tried to access it but this is what I've been told).
Is there anyone out there who can shed some light on any of this? Please?
I didn't say that it was.
Never said it was.
The resident is on vacation again so why not the Navy too?
We have a home in Freeport Fl. about 6 miles from the gulf,
on the bay and left July 1. We are now in Oklahoma and will
not return ‘til we think it’s safe. The chemicals dumped in the gulf was our biggest worry. I know of noone personally
who have left our area. None of our friends pay any attention to what’s happening with our communist govt.
46 ships would be the entire British navy. The US Navy has 284 commissioned ships. I doubt you need 46 ships for an operation to land 7,000. The Tarawa class carries 1,900 Marines each.
Yeah, but it is in "latin America" so that makes it another ****hole.
Whatever you do, PLEASE don’t start another blog, lol!
I haven’t gotten into this, but here it starts on FR- where I find most news is heard first- so I have to comment.
Evacuate the Gulf states/southern US, etc...
I’ve heard this from friends up north- and they are really concerned. They see it on the net and it spreads and is added to. First it was a nuclear bomb that would ‘seal’ the leak and basically kill the southern/Gulf states in the process. Now its a black oil rain during tropical weather or a tsunami.
Not that I’d put anything past the current administration re. valuing its own citizens; but...aren’t there OTHER COUNTRIES surrounding the Gulf? How about Mexico( ok, most of its citizens are here, but still...), South America, the island nations IN the Gulf- Cuba and Haiti, Jamaica, etc ? Does Hussein consider them disposable? No evacuation for those places? Would they stay silent- are they all suicidal?
Granted the Gulf coast, LA, AL,MS, TX, FL are closer to the well site, but a tsunami would roll over islands too.
New Orleans- being only temporarily above water- might not notice( or even care about a tsunami) but I think others do. Nothing as big as an evacuation could be kept secret these days.
So now the rumors and fear have reached FR. I take some comfort in that, because if its happening its usually on FR first. Gulf states Freepers will put the truth out there. Until you hear it here- be skeptical. There was a local ‘report’ on Craigslist ( no doubt the source of many of the rumors going around) that detailed N.O. being evacuated: buses lined up downtown, street and times, people interviewed etc. It sounded real- and anyone not in N.O., looking at the Superdome with NO BUSES lined up, or terrified evacuees, would believe it. If anyone knows how evacuations really are, its us!
No Freeper in the Gulf south is going to hear the word ‘evacuation’ applied to their area without reporting it here. When Houston and N.O. and Mobile and Pensacola and the west coast of Florida say its happening( for ANY reason) then its real.
Until then-pray for protection, deliverance and divine intervention...and have chocolate.
Let's see. Mexico is part of Central America. That's all I need to know. I have no love for any Latin American Countries.
I would watch the Oil Drum blog because the discussions there are by experienced oil industry people who seem to be tuned in to what is really going on. If the oil drum blog or other news sources are shut down, look out.
I would worry about the methane and build up of pressure under the sea bed, and pay attention to the options available to the govt if this containment doesnt work because the well is compromised. The Energy Secretary is persoanlly getting briefed by BP every few hours as they tighten this cap and watch the pressure ...what does that tell you?
IF there is a doomsday plan, you will know in advance, but not too far in advance. What would worry me is that this is the most incompetent adminstration we may ever have experienced.
I would have an emergency plan to self-evacuate and stay away, for a worst case scenario- ie, discuss what if we had to leave, fast, for a long while (like a mega hurricane but longer) Maybe even permanently.
Where would you go? Relatives? Friends? How would you handle pets, finances, medical needs, staying in communications, what belongings and precious items would you take?
Quagmire!
Just because you are paranoid does not mean they are not after you.
;-)

-You just described the mindset of everyone living on the Gulf Coast( especially Louisiana) for 6 months of every year! Prepare to run- prepare to lose everything- prepare to have no place to come back to. EVERY hurricane season- and sometimes multiple evacuations. It does something to the mind and spirit.
No way to live, IMO.
A mass evacuation of the Gulf would at least end that yearly misery once and for all.
It’s not just the Gulf Coast- a dirty bomb could make any large city a death trap of chaos, so we have our own plan to get away from DC
“The US Navy has 284 commissioned ships”
285, counting the pad at WSMR.
Maybe it’s a ploy to further depress Gulf Coast real estate prices so that speculators can snap up good properties at a discount...
