Hi folks. There are lots of blogs out there and websites talking of 46 warships, planes and 7000 troops evacuating the Gulf of Mexico and landing in Costa Rica. Something to do with 'the war on drugs'.
Does anyone have the truth on this? Seems excessive for Costa Rica. Is there something big in the Gulf about to happen? I live on the west coast of Florida and I'm scared out of my mind. There are talks of shifts in the plates between Haiti and the US. Supposedly NoAA has blocked view of Tsunami site (don't know, I haven't tried to access it but this is what I've been told).
Is there anyone out there who can shed some light on any of this? Please?
Someone is evacuating the Gulf of Mexico??? That’s a lot of area to evacuate. I better let my friends down in Galveston know they are being evacuated.
A couple of threads on this are here

KOOK ALERT!!
Not a national emergency. The Gulf States are pretty much in the hands of the GOP and need to be punished.
Thanks for the links. I had searched for previous threads but nothing came up. Guess I didn’t search correctly.
My main concern is the timing of this in relation to the capping of the oil spill. There are a lot of doom and gloomers out there who say there is a big methane bubble underneath the sea floor and if BP takes the pressure off this new cap, the well is going to blow. There are a lot of people trying to scare others, and while I’m not one of the conspiracy theorists, I’d like to know when I need to leave Florida.
I learned long ago to watch when those in high places begin to scramble, it’s a good idea to scramble, too. Does anyone think this ‘evacuation’ has anything to do with the possibility of a blow out in the Gulf? Just trying to get some level-headed responses.
Waitaminute. My memory is fuzzy this morning. Which was the Central American country that chucked out it’s Marxist president and ticked off the Obama administration, and then there was a big drama about whether his plane would be allowed to land in the country? Was it Costa Rica?
Other than seeing those links about two weeks ago, I got nuthin’.
Ah no- I think it was Honduras. The fog just cleared a little. :-)
Honduras
Probally left the area because of all the oil in the water...?? Not really, havn’t heard of this here on the coast of Ms...
I see you recalled but i do believe it was in Costa Rica that he landed so partial credit.

I just googled “navy going to cost rica with 7,000 men and 46 ships+war on drugs+airplanes+the gulf blowing up” and nothing came up.
So we’re safe. For now. Til tomorrow. When we’re not.
There is a lot of information on insidecostarica.com.
It seems to be in response to drug cartel activity in the region (really ironic given the drug cartel activity along our own border...)

...and Costa Rica is not in South America.
