Oh, I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I can sympathize with your loss because I lost my mother-in-law on June 13th, she was 91. We were with her here at home when she passed.
It's so very hard losing our parents. Even when we know it is coming, it's impossible to be prepared. My heart goes out to you.

Thank you, Lori! In case you didn’t see my post to everyone, I got a new monitor! Mine was awful and I had quit framing altogether, except a little black border! I can’t believe how colorful all the posts were on Amy’s Place.

Lonestar, my sincere, heart-felt condolences are offered,
At the loss of your dear mother. It is my true belief that
She is now in full, perfect health,
And in the encompassing arms of our Lord in Heaven.

The Price Of Involvement July 10, 2010
While making his landmark documentary about World War II, filmmaker Ken Burns and his colleagues watched thousands of hours of military footage. Scenes of the devastating Battle of Peleliu often invaded their dreams at night. Burns told Sacramento Bee reporter Rick Kushman, Youre listening to the ghosts and echoes from an almost inexpressible past. If you do that, you put yourself into the emotional maelstrom.
Theres a price to becoming involved in the struggles of others, whether artistically or spiritually. Paul experienced this in his work of sharing the gospel: Apart from such external things, there is the daily pressure on me of concern for all the churches. Who is weak without my being weak? Who is led into sin without my intense concern? (2 Cor. 11:28-29 NASB).
Oswald Chambers said we enter this spiritual struggle as we deliberately identify ourselves with Gods interests in other people and find to our amazement that we have power to keep wonderfully poised in the center of it all.
Paul realized that Gods strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Cor. 12:9). Jesus paid the greatest price to be involved in our world, and He strengthens us as we share His love with others.
Though weak, you still can serve today
And follow Christs command;
Behind the lines or in the fray
In Jesus strength you stand. Hess
If we obey Gods calling, He will provide the needed strength.
Read: 2 Cor. 11:22-33
. . . besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches.
2 Corinthians 11:28

HAPPY CATURDAY TO AMYS PLACE!
The Old Gumbie Cat
I have a Gumbie Cat in mind, her name is Jennyanydots; Her coat is of the tabby kind, with tiger stripes and leopard spots. All day she sits upon the stair or on the steps or on the mat: She sits and sits and sits and sits - and that's what makes a Gumbie Cat!
But when the day's hustle and bustle is done, Then the Gumbie Cat's work is but hardly begun. And when all the family's in bed and asleep, She slips down the stairs to the basement to creep. She is deeply concerned with the ways of the mice - Their behaviour's not good and their manners not nice; So when she has got them lined up on the matting, She teaches them music, crocheting and tatting.
I have a Gumbie Cat in mind, her name is Jennyanydots; Her equal would be hard to find, she likes the warm and sunny spots. All day she sits beside the hearth or in the sun or on my hat: She sits and sits and sits and sits - and that's what makes a Gumbie Cat!
But when the day's hustle and bustle is done, Then the Gumbie Cat's work is but hardly begun. As she finds that the mice will not ever keep quiet, She is sure ist is due to irregular diet And believing that nothing is done without trying, She sets straight to work with her baking and frying. She makes them a mouse-cake of bread and dried peas, And a beautiful fry of lean bacon and cheese.
I have a Gumbie Cat in mind, her name is Jennyanydots; The curtain-cord she likes to wind, and tie it into sailor-knots. She sits upon the window-sill, or anything that's smooth and flat: She sits and sits and sits and sits - and that's what makes a Gumbie Cat!
But when the day's hustle and bustle is done, Then the Gumbie Cat's work is but hardly begun. She thinks that the cockroaches just need employment, So she's formed, from that lot of disorderly louts, A troop of well-disciplined helpful boy-scouts, With a purpose in life and a good deed to do - And she's even created a Beetles' Tattoo.
So for Old Gumbie Cats let us now give three cheers - On whom well-ordered households depend, it appears.
