It appears that the top hat on the BP well has been blown off. It also appears that they riser has been further damaged. Except for the flow to the ship Q4000, the flow from the well is currently unabated.

Oh good grief...
And this is the nation that got people to the moon?
Ban me now, Mods.
There aren’t enough curse words in any language.
Looks like it’s off.
Blown off or removed?
I would have posted to: “Apocalypse”
Ooops. Is the hole becoming bigger?
I’m guessing they’re going to try putting on a new flange that has a better surface to seal against.
Can someone please post the link to the page that shows all the ROVs simultaneously (multiplexed)? Thanks!
I was watching when it came of.....came off very erratically and flew to the northwest into the background. I am assuming that since the riser is showing a piece missing, that is was an accident. It was rocking around pretty good just before it came off.
Not to worry. Baraq Obama will get a giant straw and suck it all off.
Not to be seen as any kind of defense of BP, but the operating environment some mile below the ocean's surface, is a much more hazardous environment to operate in than on the surface of the moon.
The fact of the matter is that men can actually work on the surface of the moon. They can't work where this well-head is. That makes things more difficult. This is why we should be drilling at 25-60 meters, rather than the 1,400-1,500 meters we're drilling at now.
Sounds like that little ‘tophat’ on a pressure cooker that rattles around as the steam escapes.

They need to try these. They really work
Ping!
Looks like they removed the cap...Probably to be replaced with a better one. I do not see any new breaks....
