I hadn’t thought about that. I was thinking how pristine my garden would look, lol.
Interesting experiment happening here, in this case....
I dug the grass out of the first bed.
In the second bed, I covered the grass with old price lists. They were about the thickness of a paperbag, and I layed them 4 deep.
They were yellow.....And by beans are more yellow than green....

Hmmmmm, did you fertilize in the last couple of days or maybe sprayed a pesticide?

Just a reminder of how you can use sunny spots not necessarily in the garden area for growing.

Nicely done! I had a great spring for growing radishes. I like the longer French Breakfast types.
I get to spend the whole morning in my garden tomorrow! Yippee! So I’m going to bed now and sleeping fast so I can get at it by 6am. Good night!

“Did you feel the earthquake?”
Um...isn’t that just a little TOO personal for a family-friendly site like this? LOL!

Picture of bean punch?
No, I don't. It's made from a buggy axle out of the 1900's.

I've looked all over for a picture of the
"Hi-Yield Nem-A-Cide Nematode Control, 5 lbs" but I can find it.
I've got a few plants dieing myself that I'm replanting tomorrow.
By the way, I recommend "Better Boy Tomatoes."
Here's what I do:
I take post hole diggers and dig a hole about a foot deep.
I take "Hi-Yield Nem-A-Cide Nematode Control" (wear a breathing mask) about 2 tablespoons of it and put it in the hole. Then I fill the hole with water and let it soak in until it's about half-full.
I get some "Black Kow" that I got from "Lowes" and pour it into the hole until it's three-quarters full again with the mixture of Black Kow and water.
Now I plant two or three tomato plants in the mixture and drag in the dirt from where I dug the hole, around the plants. This will help keep the sun from steaming the plants by having dry dirt on top.
Finally I sprinkle some more "Hi-Yield Nem-A-Cide Nematode Control" around the plant on the dry dirt. Then I take my "Hula Hoe" and drag some dry dirt over it, to keep the wind from blowing the poison away.
Here's some more information on
ALTERNATIVE NEMATODE CONTROL.

I wouldn't call my garden large, 150ft long and about 50ft wide on one end and 75 ft on the other.
It's a hillside garden.
"... flagging for a aerial spraying outfit."
Now that sounds like fun. I'd love to learn how to crop dust,
but being a retired air traffic control, I know it's hard on the body.
I didn't mean to offend you, I was just offering advice.

THat’s what I planted, and they sure didn’t look like that. Looks like I’ll have to try again. See you on the new thread, when it is up.

Can over watering cause wimpy wimpy leaves on the ‘mater plants?
I water every night. By the time I get home at the end of the day the leaves on some of my plants are drooping in a bad way. They seem to perk up over night.
I have about 4 - 6 ‘maters growing on each plant, and some of the plants are “hierloom”s.
I’d be devasted if I lose them.

What is the soil texture and can you describe if it allows adequate drainage?
It would be nice if you could post a picture of what the tomato leaves look like.
