The new United Nations Treaty is being designed to disarm all citizens of every nation on Earth. The treaty will give all governments a free hand to do as they please. It is making headway in Washington D.C. and it is feared that President Obama may very well try to use the treaty to consolidate his power in America. The treaty specifics are now being negotiated and Obama has given the OK For the U.S. to be a part of the negotiations.

Expect the untoward.

Onward untoward victory?

Eh, don’t put amazing idiocy beyond Congress. The further into the future we slip, the more stupid we must endure from them.

“No they won’t....”

True, unfortunately, in spite of all the huffing and puffing.

Never owned a gun. Never wanted to. But if this passes, I may change my mind.

"There is a mechanism whereby the President can make this happen (a treaty) unilaterally and have force of law, no congress required."

Treaties cannot violate the Constitution, even if ratified by whatever means. So long as we have the 5 justices that held for Heller, this is non-sense.

If the Democrats tried something like this, they'd be out of power for a generation. There's a reason that Obama has been in office for 1.5 years and not a single gun-control measure has come to the ANY committee for a vote. There is no appetite for gun control in the US, and the Dems know it.

Are you an Ohioan in Texas or a Texan in Ohio? Either way, both states are strong on gun rights. Hookem Buckeyes!

If it passes it will be too late. The laws of supply and demand are such that if you want to get a gun now, or if you think you might want one in the future, you better git it now.

SECTION 4?
The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned. But neither the United States nor any State shall assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or any claim for the loss or emancipation of any slave; but all such debts, obligations and claims shall be held illegal and void.

Or a different section?

No they won't. If gun confiscation occurs then 95% of gun owners will willingly turn over their guns for “compensation,” even if that's just an agreement to not be prosecuted and spending years in prison. The rest will hide their guns and think they're rebelling by not turning them in, but virtually nobody will strike back offensively.

People are too comfortable in their lives to have another revolution. Besides, the only way a revolution could be fought again is through the use of explosives. Those that do use explosives are derided by even 2nd amendment advocates. Revolution requires offensive strikes, not just hiding a gun in your attic insulation “just in case.”

That is complete and utter nonsense, this isn't the UK.

The first two battles of the American revolution, Lexington and Concord, were fought over guns. The British moved to consolidate power by confiscating guns and the Americans said no.

The NRA just sold out to the socialists by agreeing not to oppose the unconstitutional Disclose Act on the pretense it will preserve the NRA's first Amendment rights STATEMENT FROM THE NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION ON H.R. 5175, THE DISCLOSE ACT while not realizing the socialists are working to destroy the 2nd Amendment through the U.N.!

The end will not be liked by Obama as the military will see mass defections and open revolt as well. Millions of American citizens are well armed and most will not submit.

We. shall. see.

One would hope that if it came down to it, there would be resistance by any means necessary, including lethal force, to defend the linchpin of the Constitution. But hope won't buy the groceries. I have a feeling that the time is coming when "We shall see"...what latterday America is made of.

Refer to what happened when the Michigan Militia was arrested. Even freepers threw them under the bus yet it turned out they were railroaded by a corrupt agent.

When guns are outlawed and someone is caught with one they will be labeled a terrorist, as was the MM. They will be lied about in the media, as was the MM. They will be vilified in such a manner that even 2nd amendment “advocates” will be afraid to voice support of them.

When the ATF burned the Branch Dravidian compound in Waco was a time to revolt. 1 person acted in an offensive manner by blowing up a building and is derided as a nutcase by even 2nd amendment advocates. That is what revolution is. It's ugly. It's violent. It has innocent victims along with the intended ones. America doesn't have the stomach for it anymore.

I'm sorry you disagree. I hope I'm wrong, but I've watched the voting public roll over and take restriction after restriction, each time erasing their line in the sand and moving it a little further down the field; only to erase it and move it again when the next restriction comes along.
