He broke quickly. Amazing what a little South American interrogation can accomplish.

He broke her neck after she grapped his laptop without his permission...
Keep in mind that the Peruvian girl was murdered 5 years to the day after Natalie was offed.
I wish he would come clean about Natalee Holloway.
Perhaps, before they remove the thumb screws, they can squeeze another one out of him for good measure.
‘bout time....
Original article in La Republica, Peru (Spanish):
Now he’s qualified to be a census taker. They do run background checks...oops...nevermind.
Sounds like the kid needs to hire Ted Kennedy’s lawyers.
I give the Peruvian police big props. They did what the Aruban police could not do(Or refused to do since Daddy Dearest was the big guy on campus over there). They get Joran to confess in what, 2 days tops..maybe if Aruban police had done their damn job instead of sucking up to the Van Der Sloot’s Stephany would be alive today
“They pull out of his backpack a laptop, a business-card holder and 15 bills in foreign currency. Van der Sloot tells police the money includes Thai, Cambodian and Bolivian currency. He is asked for credit cards and documents and appears to say his Spanish is very rudimentary that they are in a hotel room back in Chile.”
Bills from 3 different countries and another hotel room back in Chile? This guy is 22 years old and he’s hoppping around the world? Snaps a woman’s neck for looking at his laptop?
He sounds like a very hardened criminal in a very dirty business. I’m starting to believe the speculation that he’s a sex slave trader.
Good interrogation techniques in Peru huh? Aruba should take lessons.
“There is no death penalty or life sentence in Peru.” CNN
I don’t know much about the Peruvian justice system, but I’m curious about why he would confess after all these years of denial over the Halloway girl and getting away with it. I wonder if they’re fast-tracking him. Not my ideal form of justice, but in his case I might be willing to make an exception.
He confessed. I’m willing to bet that his conscience has been driving him crazy for years. What a shame another young woman died because of it.
The punk said she “had no right” to look at his personal laptop. I guess that was the ‘all clear’ to his mental state that he had a right to kill her.
Lock this bastard up for the rest of his life.
His story is a load of BS. He found out that if he didn’t kill her for robbery or kill her for pleasure, then his sentence in Peru will be much, much shorter. He only faces 6-20 years with his story, but 25-35 for murder during robbery, and she was indeed robbed. He’s had several days of free legal advice courtesy of the Dutch consulate in Lima. He knows they have a ton of evidence against him so the best he can do for himself is to cop to a story in which he accidentally killed her in a fit of rage rather than telling the real truth.
Saw Greta on FNC last evening before her own show.
She told O’R that a couple of weeks ago the FBI had a chance to arrest Vander-killer for wiretap extortion and they let him go. O’R promised to get more information on why he let free.
If this is true someone has blood on their hands as this girl could have been saved if he’d been arrested.
I wonder if his attorney, Tacopina (sp?) got him off.
I predict he won’t ever get a hemorrhoid!
