His story is a load of BS. He found out that if he didn’t kill her for robbery or kill her for pleasure, then his sentence in Peru will be much, much shorter. He only faces 6-20 years with his story, but 25-35 for murder during robbery, and she was indeed robbed. He’s had several days of free legal advice courtesy of the Dutch consulate in Lima. He knows they have a ton of evidence against him so the best he can do for himself is to cop to a story in which he accidentally killed her in a fit of rage rather than telling the real truth.

I think they better follow his trail of travels and see if there are other girls missing where he’s been. Chances are he’s probably killed more than two girls.
