I don’t know much about the Peruvian justice system, but I’m curious about why he would confess after all these years of denial over the Halloway girl and getting away with it. I wonder if they’re fast-tracking him. Not my ideal form of justice, but in his case I might be willing to make an exception.
He confessed to the murder of Stephany in order to get a much lighter sentence. His version only gets him 6-20. The truth gets him 25-35. Hopefully Peru can break his story. They have so much evidence they don’t even need a confession, but of course it helps a lot, even though he’s lying about the motive and circumstances. They should be able to prove the truth.
